Jumpscare/Horror Commercial from Hulu Almost Gave Me A Panic Attack

Was scrolling through Instagram just now and got an ad for some horror show on Hulu shoved in my face. I wish it wasn't an assumption that all adults can handle this type of commerical. It had all the things I hate in it - flashing lights, blood, creepy teeth, and a clown. I scrolled past as quickly as I could but I still saw a lot of it.

Okay, how do I never see Harry Potter on AO3 again?

Surely there's a way to block an entire fandom, right? Is there a site skin? I will modify code if I have to and someone walks me through it.

Movie Where She Can't Make Eye Contact With Him?

Does anyone know the name of the movie where she works as a servant and there's a scene where she has to turn and face the wall when he's walking by because it's not appropriate to make eye contact with him? I think they had already kissed at this point in the movie but were keeping it a secret from the rest of the household.

I've been looking for this movie for years. I thought it might be Jane Eyre but I've watched a large percentage of Jane Eyre adaptations and it's not in any of them ...

Edit to add more details: This particular scene was in a long hallway, and the master of the house was walking by with another woman (the housekeeper? another woman?) and the servant woman has to turn to face the wall. I'm pretty sure I remember the wall had dark wooden paneling on it. Something tells me it was on one of the upper floors, like she didn't expect the master of the house to come up there or something.

What's your favorite historical romance-ism?

By which I mean, what's a word or phrase that comes up in historical romance that you like but isn't really used in modern English. Mine is "make a cake of myself" and similar variations. I don't think I'd ever seen it before reading historical romance, haha.

Movie or TV Show About Laura Ingalls Wilder's Parents?

Back in 2020, I remember poking around on IMDB and finding a movie or tv show that I remember was about Laura Ingalls Wilder's parents. How they met and their love story, etc.

This is what I remember from it:

99% sure it was a movie

It was a newish movie from 2009 or 2010

I think it was called Charles and Caroline but I haven't been able to find anything with that title again

There was a still from the movie with the two of them cuddled in bed together

I realized as I was typing this that it might have been a project that was scrapped ... Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Happy Loving Day!

Today, June 12th is Loving Day, an American holiday which celebrates the 1967 Supreme Court decision which eliminated laws which banned interracial marriages in sixteen states. It is named after Mildred and Richard Loving, a couple from Virginia who were forced to flee their home due to racism.

What are your favorite interracial romances? I've found several that I liked thanks to suggestions in this sub!

My favorites include {Let It Shine by Alyssa Cole} and {The Songbook of Benny Lament by Amy Harmon}. Both of these books are set in the 1960s and feature a Black female love interest and a white male love interest.

Brand New Macbook?

Okay this is going to sound crazy but I SWEAR a brand new macbook has a unique scent. It is slightly apple scented but also idk, warm electronic too? Like maybe a green apple with warm plastic/metal smell?

Body Positive Romance?

Hi everyone, I’ve been struggling with weight related body image issues and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for books where FMC struggled with that too and the MMC, or even her friends helped her. I’m especially looking for FMC who AREN'T actually curvy or fat but are pressured to fit a specific weight or shape and feel like they fall short.

Other preferences:

High spice

I’d like a hero that’s more sweet and gentle, maybe a bit nerdy. (No bully hero or super dominant hero)

I would prefer a novella length but a longer book is also okay

Monogamous, polyamorous, or reverse harem are all okay

Please nothing with dub con, non con, somnophilia, anal, pegging, bdsm, bondage

Disappearing books!

I stumbled upon {The Priestess Conundrum by Isabella Colestone} and read it this morning. (It's a quick little novella). But when I went to look for her other books, the ones I wanted to read were no longer on Amazon and don't seem to ever have been sold anywhere else.

If anyone knows where I can find {Of Harlots and Pickpockets by Isabella Colestone} or {Of Seances and Swindlers by Isabella Colestone} let me know ... Colestone is an excellent writer.
