Full details of new company-wide UPLH Scheduling at Walmart
As promised.
Scheduling at Walmart is changing COMPANY WIDE to be based on items sold divided by labor hours worked = your store’s hours
This isn’t a “your management is lying to you” situation. It’s on the OneWalmart wire. This is a new scheduling formula set under the direction of new Walmart CEO John Furner. I can make another post with screenshots detailing how the formula works later. But the short of it is basically, take the total amount of items purchased during the previous week and divide it by the number of labor hours associates worked the previous week and this will give you your store-wide hours from home office. Those hours from home office will then by delegated to each department and then finally your coach or PL will be able to delegate who gets those department’s hours. I believe it started week 14, so this has been in effect for 3 weeks now.
This new scheduling formula completely fucked our front end over on Memorial Day weekend. They only scheduled 22 people for the entire day in the front end because the hours are based on how many items are sold divided by how many labor hours the associates worked the previous week. We were completely unprepared and only had 1 or 2 manned registers open most of the day and it was super busy with lines practically going out the door. We had Team Lead watching self checkout at one point because of not having any people. We called Code Spark 5 times on the walkie, for fashion associates, sporting goods, homelines, whoever to jump on the register but no one came.
How exactly does the self checkout coupon scam work?
So I’m in self checkout, someone buys an $80 coffee maker, but then they scan their phone and it registers as a valid coupon for the item that takes $76 off the item. The coffee maker is now $4. Asset Protection says this is becoming a common scam and going forward, if we see anyone scan their phone at self checkout we must pause them and tell them that we only accept PHYSICAL coupons and gift cards and do not accept digital ones scanned from your phone. If we ignore people scanning their phones at the self checkout, we will be coached for allowing theft without taking measures to deter them.
My question is how does this happen and why does it scan as a valid coupon? If it’s a scam, then the coupon should not scan or at least say that no product matches the item. And what manufacturer would provide a legitimate coupon that gives you 95% off their product? That seems like a major issue with Walmart’s POS system.
