are y’all actually doing your dream job or just winging adulthood rn 😭

idk why this randomly hit me today but are people actually out here working the job they genuinely wanted?

like the “this is what i wanna become when i grow up” type job.

or did most of us just slowly end up somewhere after applying everywhere, getting rejected 38 times, panicking a little, and then just accepting whatever paid decent 💀

cause i swear half the people i know are working jobs that 14 year old them would never even guess.

lowkey curious if anyone here actually made it to the profession they always imagined for themselves or if everyone’s just freestyling adulthood rn

I genuinely wanna know if anyone else has had this happen 😭

You know when you apply for so many jobs that eventually you stop feeling anything after clicking apply? Like okay cool another application sent into the universe.

That was literally me for months.

Then one random night I downloaded this small hiring app for blue and gray collar jobs because I was bored and annoyed and honestly just trying anything at that point.

What’s confusing me is how that app somehow gave me more actual responses in one week than some of the “mainstream” apps gave me in months 💀

And before anyone asks no this is not sponsored or anything because I still don’t even understand HOW it worked better for me 😭

I’m just surprised that recruiters there actually called instead of disappearing after the application.

Did anyone else randomly get better results from a smaller job app instead of the “big” ones everyone talks about? 😭

Because this genuinely confused me.

For months I was doing the usual routine every single day
LinkedIn
apna
WorkIndia
Indeed
Random Telegram and WhatsApp groups

Apply everywhere. Wait everywhere. Get ghosted everywhere.

Then one night out of frustration I downloaded a smaller blue and gray collar job app that I had seen mentioned somewhere in a comment section. I was not even expecting much from it honestly. But within a few days I started getting actual calls instead of just automated emails.

The biggest difference for me was that nearby jobs actually felt nearby and in some listings I could directly connect with HR instead of waiting forever after applying.

Now I am genuinely wondering if smaller job platforms are quietly better for frontline hiring or if I just accidentally got lucky 😭

One thing I noticed while job hunting for blue and gray collar roles is that speed matters way more than people think 😭

I just realized most job apps aren’t built for normal people anymore

Maybe it’s just me but it genuinely feels like there’s a huge difference now between platforms made for “corporate careers” and platforms where actual day-to-day hiring happens.

One side of the internet is all about networking, personal branding, polished resumes and professional posts.

The other side is people just trying to find real jobs quickly without turning the process into a full personality test 😭

And honestly for blue collar and gray collar roles, the second type seems to work way better now.

A lot of people I know stopped depending only on the mainstream apps because everything there feels overcrowded and slow now. Instead they’ve been finding opportunities through smaller hiring platforms that are way more direct and practical.

I randomly came across myjobee recently and it honestly felt more focused on actual hiring than all the “build your online presence” stuff.

Lowkey feels like the smartest move now is figuring out which platforms are made for getting attention and which ones are actually made for getting hired.

Smaller job apps are lowkey winning

I randomly tried one of those smaller job platforms a few weeks back after getting tired of applying on the usual apps with zero replies.

Didn’t expect much honestly, but I started getting actual callbacks pretty fast. The whole thing felt less crowded and weirdly more active compared to the bigger platforms where every job has thousands of applicants in an hour.

What surprised me most was that there were way more openings for delivery, warehouse, drivers, retail staff, telecalling, support, operations type roles instead of only corporate stuff.

Not saying it’s perfect or anything, but it genuinely felt more useful for real hiring than endlessly pressing “Easy Apply.”

Curious if anyone else here switched to smaller hiring platforms recently because the difference was kinda noticeable.

What actually worked for you while job hunting?

Genuine question because I’ve realized most people don’t even find jobs the “normal” way anymore.

Some get referred by random mutuals, some find openings through Telegram or WhatsApp groups, some spam apply everywhere, and somehow a few people always know those lesser-known apps or websites that actually work better than the mainstream ones.

What’s funny is the best results I’ve seen lately usually don’t come from the platforms everyone keeps talking about constantly.

Feels like after a point, people quietly figure out their own system and never share it 😭

So yeah, curious what genuinely worked for you guys recently. Could be an app, a trick, a strategy, literally anything.

Anyone else tired of how messy job hunting has become now?

Not even talking about rejections. That’s normal at this point 😭

I mean the whole process itself just feels annoying now, especially for blue collar and gray collar jobs. Half the openings are outdated, some recruiters vanish after one call, and every second listing looks either fake or confusing.

And somehow all job apps start feeling the same after a while. You open LinkedIn and feel underachieved, open Naukri and get jobs that don’t match, then end up scrolling Indeed at 2am hoping something decent appears.

Recently I started trying smaller platforms too because the bigger ones feel overcrowded now. Surprisingly found a few decent operational and support role openings on MyJobee and the process felt way less complicated than I expected.

At this point I honestly think people just want a simple app where they can find relevant jobs and apply without feeling like they’re filling out college admission forms again.

Or maybe job hunting has just fried my brain completely 💀
