Should Love Sensation have been the first single instead of Bring Your Love?

Now that Love Sensation has debuted at #8 in the UK, while Bring Your Love reached #29, I’m wondering if Madonna’s team tried too hard to appeal to a younger audience with Sabrina when they might have had a stronger opportunity to lean into M’s legacy with Kylie?

I know it’s hindsight, but there are good arguments on both sides.

Sabrina undoubtedly brings in a younger audience, but Kylie gives her an instantly recognizable old school dance-pop connection that feels very Confessions-adjacent.

Which strategy would you have preferred for the first single?

Love Sensation Debuts at #8 on UK Charts!

Madonna scores her 65th UK Top 10 hit and Kylie her 37th.

Love Sensation (Afterhours Remix) was also the week’s highest new entry on the Official Charts.

And “sensationally,” the track becomes Madonna’s highest-charting single in 17 years, since Celebration reached #3 way back in 2009…

Confessions II has now produced 3 Top 40 singles in the UK, with Bring Your Love reaching #29 and Danceteria #38. Madonna’s last album to produce 3 Top 40 singles was Hard Candy in 2008.

There’s nothing that they cannot do! ❤️

Madonna Seems Super Relaxed Around Kylie

Madonna can be guarded at times, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen her so genuinely relaxed around another performer, especially a “peer.”
It’s like she and Kylie have been friends forever.
Can you recall any other celebs where she’s been this chill? They both seem to be vibing off each other in the best way. There’s definitely a Love Sensation happening!

Quick Poll for U.S. Fans: Anyone purchase a physical or digital copy of the album since Tuesday?

Today is the last day for sales to count toward next week’s Billboard album chart!
Curious to hear what everyone has purchased since Monday’s midweek update, when M was just 5K units ahead of Olivia.

Distracting You With Numbers 🥇

Je suis désolée, Lo siento, Ik ben droevig, Sono spiacente, Perdóname…

I know many of you (like Madonna) don’t want to be distracted by numbers, but I think we’d all appreciate if M debuts at #1, just as validation for such a universally acclaimed album.

Hits Daily Double published this full-week projection on Monday. I’ve not seen any updates, but it’s close. Just 5,000 album units ahead of Olivia.

If you’ve not yet purchased the Instrumental or Film editions on iTunes for $4.99, now is the time to do it. ❤️

Theory: Warner already knows Confessions II has #1 Billboard album locked…

Billboard only counts digital albums priced at $7.99. With the Icon edition now priced at $4.99 on iTunes and today’s release of the Instrumentals bundle (32 tracks) also at $4.99, Warner must know they’ve accomplished their internal sales goals to clear Olivia’s 4th week numbers.

If the #1 race were actually tight, you’d expect to see everything priced at $7.99 to bank every album unit.

Instead, I think Warner is aiming for a long-tail streaming strategy… get the music into Apple Music via iTunes where the streams will then begin to build.
