STAY FAR AWAY FROM STEPHEN DURBIN AND ASSOCIATES

Stay away from Stephen Durbin and Associates!!!

I am writing this post to warn others to stay far away from Stephen durbin and associates. They do nothing but lie, avoid you and literally steal money from your retainer. I had the misfortune of retaining this firm because when I was initially looking for a lawyer their reviews seemed pretty decent, DON'T LET THIS FOOL YOU! After signing I started seeing several reviews about them ripping people off, not returning emails, overbilling hourly etc... and let me tell you ALL of that is true! Right from day 1 I was overbilled, spent well over a year trying to have paperwork submitted to the court that they did not submit on time, it took more than a week for them to have an email drafted to send to opposing council and by the time it was finally ready it was too late to send it. This firm is so unprofessional! they actually mixed someone else's file in with mine which is a HUGE breech of confidentiality and I'm sure it wasn't the first time it happened, if they spent less time having the internet scrubbed of their bad reviews and more time actually working on their cases this probably wouldn't be such a common problem. To add insult to injury they tried to offer me hush money in the form of an NDA which I refused to sign, then proceeded to take more money from the remainder of my retainer claiming there was work pending yet they hadn't done any kind of work on my case in at least 4 months prior.

DO NOT GIVE THIS FIRM $1 OF YOUR MONEY!

You would be better off just setting it on fire because as least the flames could offer you some warmth, whereas they will offer you nothing but fictitious bills and nickle and dime emails amongst themselves planning lunches.

Feel free to message me directly if you'd like to see proof of everything I said here.

If this post can save at least 1 person from dealing with everything I just went through, I feel it was time well spent!
