Periodontal ?

I go to the dentist next week and can go ahead and assume I have periodontal disease but wanted to know, what do you see? I haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years but within the past year or two I’ve been brushing my teeth, really good flossing, mouthwash, etc. I used to smoke I no longer smoke. I just have debilitating anxiety and am terrified of the dentist so any help would be good thank you

Pretty sure I have periodontal disease? Haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years due to a really bad experience/PTSD/anxiety. I’ve made an appointment and I go next week, but of course with the anxiety comes all the questions before. I am 34 years old former smoker should’ve been better with brushing and flossing, but have been on a strict routine and haven’t missed any brushing/flossing in a few years.

I guess my question is is I’m pretty sure I have it so what should I expect when I go to the dentist?
