Body Language

I'm surprised so many fans think Body Language is average or bad.

As someone that has only become a big fan of Kylie I personally think it's one of her best albums . I love the fact she went in other direction.

I don't think there's a bad song on the album. Even if the singles didn't stand out to me like they do to other fans I think the album is golden (no pun intended)

My favourite album is Impossible Princess but I think this album might be just as experimental and daring.

Top 3 personal tracks

Loving Days - such a beautiful haunting song. Its like Madonna's Ray of Light but a little bit more electronic and pop.

Promises- it's such a catchy sexy song. Yes it does sound manufactured and cheesy but maybe that's the point.

Someday - This is probably my favourite track. It's the one song that hardly any fans really love. It's French electronic meets English pop. I think it's possibly Kylie's most underrated track .

Think Tank Stink Tank

I feel like this album has to be appreciated more like a piece of art more than how great it sounds to the ears. It's experiential and daring. Even though I generally rate it as one of their least best albums I can understand why someone would think the opposite of that.abo

My favourite song on the album is probably On the Way To The Club but I absolutely love Out Of Time, Ambulance and Battery In My Leg.

Favourite Kylie Album Cover

So Impossible Princess does just happen to be my favourite Kylie album but correlation doesn't necessarily equal causation. Years before I ever got into Kylie or loved this album I remember seeing this album cover as a teenager and thinking it was so visually beautiful. I guess sometimes you can judge a cover by its book.

It wasn't just neighbours that brought Kylie into the world. Her first album at the time was actually almost immaculate. Il go as far to say that I don't think 'Ishould be so lucky and Locomotion are not that great songs (even though the world people loved them) but the album is amazing..

I still love you ( not going to bother with the French words) is a great 80s track and Got to be certain is an 80s gem that should have made it in America. Its an electrictronic synth pop masterpiece. One of her best songs. Then you have two non singles like Turn into Love and Look My way that are 80s fuck , disco electronic at its best. Yes she was just a puppet at this stage but how many women in the world could play this part. The fact she was was an everyday average daggy Australian girl to get that far and then prove the world 10 times over is why Kylie is so much more than 99% of artist. She proved how profound she is with Impossible Princes. What a star. Combined with a Olivia Newton John and her sister Danny it goes to show that Melbourne is one of the pop captials, music capitals and Gay capitals of the world.

Her first album is actually one of her best and is undervalued.

As someone that's mostly into alternative music Im pretty sure I will always hold Impossible Princess as her best but as someone that also loves 80's synth/ electronic pop and disco I think her first album is pretty stunning. It has its faults but it's great from start to finish.

Is it sacrilege to think Parklife could of been shorter in length...

I rank Parklife probably their 5th best album and probably the most diverse in how much I like individual songs. For me it probably would be a better listen/ quality album if it was shortened to its best 11 or 12 tracks. I find about a third of the album to be mediocre.

Let me know if you think my rating/ ranking of songs is anything near valid or not or give me your personal top 3 and bottom 3 tracks..

Top Kylie 10 ( as hard as it is)

  1. Come into My World (her best song just happens to have the best music clip plus it won a grammy)

  2. Some Kind Of Bliss ( her most underrated song, most fans couldn't connect with alternative Kylie, meanwhile she was the hottest coolest woman of the 90's)

3.Put Yourself In My Place (this song could be mistaken for average until you realise it's one of the most beautiful sensual songs showcasing how good Kylie's vocals are)

4.Time Bomb ( when club dance, bubble gum pop and great vocals meet)

5.Padum Padam (it took me a few listens to realise how good this song is and it showed us Kylie does not end)

6.Confide In Me (by far the song that showed the world how special she was, even though hardly anyone noticed)

7.Closer ( it's the 2000s and Kylie knows how to embrace it)

  1. Did It Again (a song I loved and got over and then realised again how amazing it is)

  2. Butterfly (This is where Kylie meets electronics and creates something beautiful)

  3. Light Camera Action (a true superstar diva that knows how to make gear dance music)

Best songs on Body Language

I've heard a lot of fans suggest that the singles are really good on Body Language but the rest of the album is average. Personally I disagree and think the singles are good but they are not the best songs on the album...

  1. Loving Days

  2. Someday

  3. Promises

Body Language or Fever

As someone that doesn't listen to that much pop or dance music I'm making the effort to listen to more of Kylie's catalogue and Body Language is better than I expected. I think I like it almost as much as Fever.

Fever definitely has better stand out songs/ singles for me but I think Body Language is a slightly more consistent with and more of the non single tracks better than on Fever. Promises, Someday and Loving Days are great songs.

Butch Vig vocals

Apparently Butch has done backing vocals for numerous songs but it's not very obvious to me.

As iconic as Shirley's voice is I'm sort of surprised Butch hasn't done more prominent vocals irrelevant of how good his voice is.

It could have allowed for more creativity and diversity with their music and possibly increased their male fanbase. I'm sort of surprised in 8 albums we dont have one song where Butch does the main vocals.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Does anyone else really hate Muffet and sons... Or maybe you like them.. maybe I haven't given them a proper chance.. but from the songs I've heard I can't stand them... I don't even know what to call their music .. it's sort of English folk country some guy just yelling out words to a banjo.. I'm open minded but I just don't get heir music
