Explaining my art style with Daisuke
Because a lot of you doesn't understand what is an art style or what is a self representation of a character, I have made a guide of references in my drawing to explain why Daisuke looks like this.
The eyes and make-up : firstly the eyes are so big and not slanted eyes because they are inspired by Gyaru makeup (more specifically Rokku and Manba as I am into Rokku and my best friend into Manba) the makeup is representing the eyes as being kinda of like a droopy shape with highlights under the eyes.
The mouth : his crooked teeth are actually from a trend that used to be in Japan (or isn't really hype recently, idk if it's gone >->) where the japanese women had surgery to have crooked teeth as it made them appear younger and apparently (rumor from when I was middle school) crooked teeth were a reference to children with their baby teeth.
The brain spirals : now that one is a much more precise reference which is from Spiral by Junji Ito and more precisely got inspired by the hair of Goshima (like in the book before the end of the serie if I remember correctly ?) I just love spirals, I got an obsession sometimes with certain shapes that I like to do from time to time lol (in the end of middle school it was circles, in like mid my middle school years it was triangles and stars because I had like a creepypasta where a girl was obsessed with going to the stars and she wanted to be an astronaut, and in the very beginning of middle school and end primary school it was like precious gem but more like the shadow and lightening effects I loved to do (loved doing Rarity's one). The shape of the crack though isn't a reference of anything, I just wanted it to be perfectly symmetrical and kinda looking like VAGUELY as a torso since Daisuke firstly had a wound on his torso before Jimbo slammed that Axe.
The palette color : the palette color was deliberately chose as darker and paler shades because normally my vtuber's hoodie model was supposed to be much more darker (which it is now, it's black with red flowers instead of pink with red flowers) and the lightning and shadowing weren't actually from his reference picture but actually from layering of shadow and light effects.
