Hey everyone! So yesterday my hairstylist bleached in a money piece for me. I had level 7 virgin roots and level 4 mids and ends. Naturally when she was finished bleaching I ended up with level 10 roots and a level 8/9 copper on my mids/ends. I think she should have done a color balance, but didn’t have time. My plan was to put purple over top and she said that as long as it was red based it should be fine.

Unfortunately…it was not fine. The first mixture gave me bright Barney purple roots and patchy burgundy mids/ends. To attempt to fix this I put a darker, cooler toned purple to hopefully adjust and blend. Unfortunately I was left with hot roots and almost disappearing mids/ends.

Now in hindsight, yes she or I should have probably filled the blonde. She was running a bit behind and it was getting late. I’ve had lots of experience working with hair color, but this is a little beyond me.

What would you recommend my next steps be to try and get things more even? I am waiting for my stylist to get back to me, but wanted to hear people’s thoughts.

TL;DR - got a money piece put in and now I just have hot roots because things weren’t balanced or blended. Need next steps to figure out how to even things out.
