Am I cooked or does this have potential?

Idk what to make my college essay about so i brainstomed this. Is it buns or am I overthinking??

my name really shaped me, kind of making me who I am almost. My last name is Cake, yes like the dessert. And throughout all my life teachers, doctors, receptionists, and so much more have always commented on it. They tell me WOW, is that your real name? WOW, like chocolate and vanilla cake. This is the funny part about it but what really makes me motivates is when people recognize my last name. They ask me about my older cousins, who were perfect students, and track stars. Because of being reminded of this so often, it has always motivated me to be the best I can be, so one day, I can be the one remembered because of my last name. Now, today, I am a junior in high school, and every first day of school my younger siblings come home and tell me that their teachers asked them "How is __ doing, she was such a good student, I hope your just like her." And this is exactly what pushed me even harder, because of me, because of the work I put in, now the people after me have better opportunities, better chances, and so do I, as I strived so hard.

  • changing lives through the same focus, connection and care
  • connection with family, trying hard, focus, determination and helping others
  • Ingredients it takes to make a cake
  • talk about the ingredients (my interests, hobbies, intended major - nursing) that you need to make CAKE both literally and metaphorically which in turn makes up me
  • Include better, sprinkles, something like that

Scared to apply to a certain school . . . what do yall think???

So I want to apply to NYU early decision, but looking at this subreddit, I don't know if I'll make it. .

- So money isnt a problem, I have a family member who works there (doesn't have anything to do with admissions or anything)

- My stats though, I aren't so NYUesque

- I got an 1160 on my SAT, I am retaking it in August but don't have super high hopes. The first time I did a couple tutoring sessions, but now I still havent studied too much.

- I have a 4.3 weighted GPA, thats not a problem though

- I have no clue HOW to write the essay, I think Ill do it about my last name and how that motivated me (its really unique.. . .its a dessert name) is that good idea?

- I didn't do sports, I was VP in freshman year, I did Pre med club and was fundriaising chair, and I am the Key Club PR officer

What do you guys think?????? lmkkkkk

My last name is CAKE, what should I write about????

Hi everyone!!!! t is the summer before applying to college and I am stumped on what to make my essay about. The reason I feel this is way is because I feel like nothing crazy has ever happened to me. I am not complaining, but I feel that everyone with a REALLY good essay that gets them into great schools has a crazy or traumatic event that has happened to them.

Anyway, some things that I enjoy doing are hiking, riding my scooter (which REALLY gave me a lot of freedom), and spending time with my family. Though, I feel like these are all pretty normal, not revolutionary stuff. HOWEVERRRR, I was thinking today, how my name really shaped me, kind of making me who I am almost. PLEASEEEEEE let me know!!!!! I am planning on applying to NYU
