so so lost :( Neocate LCP

baby boy is 8weeks+3 days, started Neocate LCP on friday which he has with Infant Gaviscon (i’m going to ask to maybe be put on omeprazole instead but i find myself giving up on things before even giving them a chance because i just have no hope 😞 ) he keeps having very hard stool like solid balls on Infant Gaviscon, he’s been on it for 2 weeks now, he was previously on aptimel pepti 1 for 2 weeks but made him so much worse, he was fine for a week on it but then all his CMPA symptoms came back with a few new ones!

baby was a little better ever since the first bottle of Neocate but it’s usually the case when we switch his milks, it’s like total false hope! , tonight has been absolutely terrible, will not sleep for more than 20 mins and has not slept since 10am thismorning, it’s now midnight.

he sounds so chesty and nasally which is new and only started yesterday but has no visible snots, is this a normal Neocate symptom or could baby be sick? i’m not asking instead of going to a gp don’t worry, my health visitor comes at 12am today and i will be relaying everything to her and she will be able to see him, but im just so lost and need some hope, im really struggling to see the light in the end of the tunnel..

he went from drinking 180ml 4 hours apart and sleeping 5 hour stretches at night but since Neocate he’s barely drinking 90ml every 4 hours and isn’t sleeping at all, screaming when awake and refuses to sleep, i think he might be refusing his bottle so i try not to force it as i dont want to cause an aversion :(

I haven’t slept one wink since 2 days ago.. and my mental health is really low, its not his fault hes just as tired as me but wow, what a journey, i haven’t had a happy baby since the day he was born bless him, i feel like such a failure, to top it all off i live with my partner but feel like a single parent most of the time, i love him dearly and i do feel loved by him, he tries his very best after work but he deserves a break too, 12 hour shifts and then looking after a CMPA baby, it’s not fair so i try to take it on all on my own, my mam helps me when she can but it just makes me feel even worse as he’s my child, i should be able to look after him, i feel so much guilt for feeling so misrable all the time, i just want to cry and did for weeks but i feel like i have no tears left, am i beating myself up?

CMPA- neocate struggle

LO has been suspected to have CMPA since 2 weeks (no official diagnosis yet) started with all the usual symptoms apart from a rash and loss of weight,
- mususy stool
- fighting the bottle (but taking it)
- vomiting
- inconsolable after a bottle which would last until the next feed which would make him worse after
- not sleeping, literally having 20 mins then waking up in pain
- legs constantly up but can’t pass gas
- pooping once a week

probably more but it’s quite fuzzy to tell you the truth, i feel completely robbed of my newborn to be quite honest, from the min i gave birth to now 8 weeks later it’s all just a haze, total survival mode,
at 6 weeks he was perscribed aptimel pepti 1 which after a week i knew was not helping him at all, told the GP and they said to wait it out as it takes 2 weeks for the old milk to leave his system, perscribed him gaviscon at 7 weeks to help his reflux which worked wonders, just not the milk.

went back to the gp yesterday as all his symptoms were coming back ten fold, his poop his screaming, no sleep, his painful wake ups, it was honestly triggering, they changed him over to neocate LCP alongside his gaviscon, he’s been on it only a day but he’s now went from 6 ounces every 4 hours (he’s over 12lbs) to now only 3 ounce (and then starts gagging and not taking it, but falling straight to sleep when the bottles taken away) and he’s sometimes stretching 6 hours of sleep which worries me so much, especially because we’re in a heatwave right now, he’s also producing less wet nappies.. feeling so lost rn
