I’ve always thought the official release of this doll was kinda ugly compared to the movie version, so as I hit a depression bump and was desperate to find something to do to get me out of my head, I decided it was finally time I tried to learn how to sew!!! And this was the perfect project!

I was shocked to see what a bit of determination could take me! I’m absolutely in love with the final results, and happy to say I’m finally over the dissatisfaction I had with the original doll!

Anyways, if you have the time and a mother who owns a sewing machine, get to customizing, it’s really fun!!

Ps: I made the wings, necklace and hair flower as well!

I am so happy to announce that this customization is complete!!! And I just have to say, the results go far beyond my expectations, I’m absolutely satisfied with every aspect of this doll!

This custom involved rebodying her, making her dress, her wings, her necklace, and flower hair accessory, also adding some glitter to her original shoes.

This was my first time sewing anything, making wings, and customizing a doll in general, so if you’re ever thinking of making your own customization but are too scared of “wasting” materials and ending up with bad results, I say just give it a try, cuz that’s literally the worst that can happen, but you can also end up with to a beautiful doll truly worthy of your pride.

The main tip I have about making clothes for dolls is: do a lot research before even getting to buying fabric!! You probably won’t find a direct tutorial for what you’re planing to make but can at least find similar processes and results, from there you build your own process to achieve your desired results.

I’ve always been obsessed with Barbie and the fairy secret and loved the way the characters look in the movie, unfortunately the official release dolls for this collection don’t look half as good the characters in the movie, so after years of being unsatisfied with the dolls, I’ve decide to make my own.

I’m honestly just sharing this because I’m so so so beyond happy with the results, this is my first time sewing doll clothes or anything in general, and also the first time I made wings like these so I’m glad the method I came up with worked.

She’s still not done as I still have to make her necklace, however the materials for it still haven’t arrived, but as soon as they do I’ll make it and share some more high quality pictures of the whole doll
