Is time really the 4th Dimension?

Assuming that we have free will, how could time be considered a 4th dimension? A dimension could be defined as a motion in the positive or negative direction (eg. +x and -x). If we have free will, can be doing different things at the same point in time.. For eg. I am sitting in my room at time t=t, at t=t+1, I could either be studying (in one universe) or I could be watching a movie (in another). Does the thought of mind change the time we live in or time itself is non linear and can explode into infinite different directions to accommodate the chaos we live in?

What's wrong with the world today?

This vent might sound a little weird but it has been troubling me for quite some time and finally decided to vent it out.

I'm 26M, decently good looking (i workout well), emotionally caring, almost an ambivert but a very open person in a Western country coming from a humble background from South Asia. I also have no trouble communicating with anyone in English (Added this line just in case someone would point it out).

It's been about 4 years now that I am trying to find a partner and have tried all possible ways of connecting to people let it be tinder, bumble, hinge, dil mil, facebook dating and what not.. Many of my female friends have also helped me build profiles on what they think girls would like. Still, I find not a single match.. I spend hours liking/ commenting/ sending in the first message but no reply. I have tried many singles events, tried going out to pubs/bars/ clubs to talk to people in person as well, but literally cannot find anyone who'd want a genuine connection.

It feels extremely frustrating and it has become very difficult to manage my emotions these days just cause of these thoughts constantly coming in my mind. Most days, I don't even crave sex. I just crave for someone to hold on to me and tell me everything is going to be okay. Just a hug, or even some physical touch... What's wrong with the world today that finding a partner seems so difficult as compared to previous times?

If anyone can suggest something to me, I am open to ideas.

How to study effectively for Field of Study/ Ph.D. Qualifying Exams

How to study well and effectively for the Field of Study/ Ph.D. Qualifying exams? In my uni, they give you 4-5 random topics and then have a 3 hour oral exam asking questions related to those topics and anything anything related to research. Generally the topics are related to research but they ask for anything remotely related to it. How to prepare for such a task?
