HYROX in 3 weeks. Need help

Hello. I’ve been running and training for HYROX for about 55 days now. I wasn’t a runner before.

I can run 8km on a treadmill in 56-57mins now. And I do most of my runs indoors because of the temperature and humidity outside and my heart rate shoots up even if I go slow. Temperature is always above 35°C/95F. Two days ago I couldn’t do more than 5.5km outside and it took me an hour. I just feel so discouraged now. Will I be able to finish my race.

I’m doing the opens women race and comfortable with every station. I’m just so scared about the running. Because 90% of my runs have been indoors on a treadmill and there was AC. My HYROX will be indoors and I’m told the venue is air conditioned.

Recently bought 3 running shoes. Can I use them?

I recently started running and bought these 3 shoes and have been training in them for my first HYROX in July.

  1. Hoka Mach 7
  2. Hoka Clifton 10 (haven’t worn them yet)
  3. Mizuno wave rider 29

I don’t want to invest into a new pair of shoe just for the race. I’ve practiced sled push and pull at a HYROX training club with Hoka Mach 7 and it felt fine for me. I’m doing women’s open. Which of these 3 shoes would be the best for the race.

Gym recommendations for HYROX workout (day passes or monthly pass)

I already have membership at a gym but it doesn’t have skierg, sled pull and push equipments. I have been doing alternate workouts in their place but I really want to practice a few times before the race.

Does anyone know of gyms that would have day passes or even a month pass so that I can practice those.

First 5K outdoors without stopping.

I signed up for HYROX in April and began running. It was 1-2km outdoors then I took a break for 2 weeks and took it up more regularly 20 days ago.

It’s really hot outside almost 40°C so I would run on the treadmill. Treadmill seems very easy for me and I have done 7k on it too.

This is my first 5k outdoors and I didn’t feel like I was dying and I could have gone more.

Any tips on how to improve my pace and lower my heart rate ?
