Paddleboard Cup Holder Project: Locks to board, Secures phone/shades with hair elastic, supports freezable can holders

I decided to do a refresh of the paddleboard cup holder I designed last year. It felt like a silly thing to sink almost 100 hours into, but I learned a lot - and realized how much I didn't know the first time around. Most of the improvements came from the feedback that this subreddit provided on my last post, so I'm very curious what you guys think.

Let me know in the comments!

Features:

  • Holds most common can sizes using a screw-on insert system
  • Locks onto the bungees so it stays on the board, even if you dont
  • Supports CryoPod Freezable Can Holders (teamed up with michelem for this)
  • Holds a drink + phone/sunglasses securely using a common hair elastic
  • Multiple cups can clip together
  • Includes a "mini" version that snaps onto the main one, inspired by my 2 y/o niece who has recently taken up paddle boarding with her mom
  • Open source mounting system for people to design their own add-ons
  • Parametric (currently in testing - improving constraints to reduce the number of edge cases that can break generation on Makerworld)

Potentially over-engineered paddleboard cup holder

I decided to do a refresh of the paddle board cup holder I made last year. It was a rather silly thing to sink almost 100 hours into but I learned a lot (and realized how much I didn't know the first time around)

Features/improvements:

- Holds most common can sizes using a screw-on insert system

- It now twist-locks onto the bungees

- Supports CryoPod Freezable Can Holders (teamed up with @michelem for this)

- Holds a drink + phone/sunglasses securely using a common hair elastic

- Multiple cups can clip together

- Includes a "mini" version that snaps onto the main one, inspired by my 2 y/o niece who has recently taken up paddleboarding with her mom

- Open source mounting system for people to design their own add-ons

- Parametric (currently in testing - improving constraints to reduce the number of edge cases that can break generation on Makerworld)

I'm on a mission to design the best paddleboard cup holder available - tell me why I didnt in the comments 😅

It may be over-engineered for a cup holder, but it made for a fun project. Let me know what you think

Available for free here if you have a 3D printer. All I ask is for a follow on Makerworld :)

Side note: I noticed that I posted this shortly after another designer posted theirs - please check theirs out as well, I really like it! https://www.reddit.com/r/Paddleboard/s/kAoHjpqwV7
