Should I get this offer?

Should I get this offer?

We are a family of three going to Singapore for 3 days. I am getting an offer from Pelago in which for S$34.10 I am getting:

  1. Three tickets for Sentosa monorail.

  2. 1 three day tourist pass.

  3. An ez link card with S$3 pre loaded.

  4. Singtel tourist SIM with 500GB data and unlimited calls.

Attached a pic for reference:

FWIW, I got this as a part of S$20 discount on purchases of S$50 or more on Pelago.

So for travel, one person can use the Ez link, one can use the pass and last one can use the debit card.

Big blunder while booking Gardens by the Bay

Hi!

So I booked tickets for Gardens by the Bay from MakeMyTrip. I had to travel on 15th August but their buggy app reset the date to 1st July and booked it. Interestingly my ticket has this:

Have I luckily got an open dated ticket that is valid on 15th August, or should I be worried?

Universal studios and Singapore Oceanarium possible in one day?

Hi all!

Planning for Singapore in August and I was getting the combined ticket for USS and the Oceanarium at a great price. I wanted to ask if it's doable to do both in a single day?

Also, what rides would you recommend for 3 adults going on a trip in USS?

B1/B2 approved (New Delhi, India, Interview on 25th June)

So, me and my parents decided to go for a Vacation to US (San Francisco and Los Angeles) in December. Initially we planned for December 2025, but since we got appointment more than a year later, we decided to go in December 2026. Btw I had applied in May 2025, and we got Biometrics on 17th June 2026, and were interviewed on 25th June 2026.

Me and My parents background and travel history:

I am currently an Intern doctor, just passed my MBBS exams. My parents are also doctors and have their own private hospital. I'm 22M and my parents are 50. I've travelled to UK, Netherlands and Nepal before, while my parents have been to Nepal only once.

17th June (Biometrics):

Biometrics were scheduled at VFS Global center at Shivaji Stadium metro station, Delhi. We decided to take our car to the station so that we can keep our phones in the car itself, and avoid lockers. But these VFS guys didn't even allow the car keys, so ultimately we ended up getting a locker xD.

The locker costs ₹200 and is near the VFS office. They also offered that I could go later and keep the keys till my parents come out, but since the process was time consuming, we decided to take the locker.

Rest everything was pretty smooth that day. Got our fingerprints and photo captured and were sorted.

25th June (Interview):

This time we took a cab to the US Embassy since the parking is not feasible there. I only took my phone so that I could access Uber. There is a small blue hut opposite the US Embassy where you can store phones at a cost of ₹100 per phone.

Our interview was scheduled at 8:10 AM. We reached at around 7:20 AM. There only people were appointments till 8:00 AM were being allowed. After around 15-20 min, only people with 8:10 AM slots were allowed.

First there is a security check outside the embassy. They also verify your passport and appointment there. Then you enter the consular section part of the embassy where you undergo an Airport styled security check again. After that you are made to sit in a waiting area with rows assigned as per their records.

We waited for sometime after which our row was called for the interview. First a person verifies you and your passport and sends you to the next section where a Visa Officer will take your interview. The queue was very long.

After sometime our turn came, and this was the interview (hoping I didn't miss anything):

VO: Good morning! Please hand over your passports.

Us three: Good morning! (Then we handed over our passports).

VO (asking me): Are you all related?

Me: Yes

VO: Are they your parents?

Me: Yes

VO: Ok. These two questions are for all three of you. Please answer verbally. Have you experienced any harm in India?

Us three: No

VO: Do you face any risk of experiencing harm on returning to India?

Us three: No

VO: What is your purpose to travelling to the US?

Dad: We are going on a trip to San Francisco and Los Angeles.

VO: Have you been outside India before?

Dad: I have been to Nepal.

Mom: Nepal only.

Me: I've also been to the UK and Netherlands.

VO: Why did you go to the UK?

Me: My aunt lives in the UK. I went to visit her.

VO: Why did you go to the Netherlands?

Me: I went to attend a conference.

VO: What type of conference?

Me: It was a tech conference.

VO: So you work in tech?

Me: No I'm doctor. I had um, actually proposed something that um, relates tech with Medicine, so I was invited for that. (I was struggling to frame a proper sentence here because of my bad english speaking skills 😅).

VO (asking me): How much do you earn?

Me: I'm just an intern! I earn only 3 lakhs.

VO: So you would be sponsoring your trip?

Me (Pointing at mom and dad): My parents

VO (Asking my parents in general): What do you do?

Mom: Doctors

Dad: Doctor. We run our own private hospital.

VO: What specialisation are you in?

Dad: We are Ayurvedic doctors.

VO: What is the annual turnover of your hospital?

Dad: Combined? (pointing at my mom)

VO: Yes

Dad: Around 20 lakhs.

VO: How many people work in your hospital?

Dad: 4

VO: How many savings do both of you have?

Dad: Around 80 lakhs.

VO (Asking my mom): So you have only been to Nepal?

Mom: Yes

VO: Sure?

Mom: Yes

After that the VO took fingerprints of all three of us. And then finally:

VO: Your visa is approved!

Us three: Thank you!

The VO did not check any documents, although we did bring basic documents like bank statements, savings certificates etc. to support our answers.

After this interview, some advice I would like to deliver to all:

  1. Be truthful. You don't have a good travel history, it's fine. Just don't lie. VOs know you are lying when you do.
  2. Do not over explain. Be polite and answer what is being asked in a clear and concise way.
  3. Do not act over excited or be over smart. I saw few such people acting out there and were rejected. Basically it should be a formal and clear conversation.

Lastly, respect the US laws when you get the visa. As a citizen of India, it's our responsibility as well to keep our country's image clean around the world! All the best to all those who have their interviews scheduled!

Doing a 3 day trip to Singapore. What are best SIM card options?

Hi!

I will be travelling to Singapore for 3 days and was wondering what is the best option for SIM cards. My mobile operator in India is offering International Roaming at ₹898 (around S$12.32) for 5 days with 4Gb of data and 150 min. Although it is sufficient for me as I can get WiFi at Hotel as well, if you guys have recommendations for a local SIM, do let me know!

Starting preparation for Step 2. What should I start with?

Hello Redditors!

I am finally stating my preparation for Step 2. r/Step1 had been immensely helpful in my Step 1 preparation before, I wonder if fellow Redditors there have come to r/Step2 as well.

Anyways, for those who survived the real deal, kindly share what all I should do for the preparation. I've heard First Aid is not good for Step 2. What all should I study then?
