High HCG levels, but nothing seen on vaginal ultra sound. Is the pregnancy viable??

So I am about 6/7ish weeks pregnant. My last period was June 26th and I tested positive for pregnancy July 29th.

It felt like forever to get my first appointment with an OBGYN and it finally came. I know it is still earlier than most people are able to be seen, so I'm grateful for that!

During the first appointment we did a vaginal ultrasound since it's not super far along. The OB didn't see anything. No yolk, no sac, no embryo. Nothing.

I'm super disappointed and confused. She recommended a blood test to test my HCG levels. It came back at 10827miU/mL. Which from what I've seen is high and a good sign.

OB was supposed to call today and discuss next steps. But I haven't heard anything back yet.

I guess I'm looking for encouragement. And if anyone has any ideas of what could be happening or if the pregnancy is viable?

Should I (F26) wait to tell my husband (M32) I'm pregnant until he gets home from his work trip?

I’m feeling a million things at once right now..excited, nervous, terrified, and totally overwhelmed. I just took a test and found out I’m pregnant with our first baby. We weren't actively "trying," but we weren't not trying either, so while it’s a surprise, it's a very happy one.

Here’s my dilemma..my husband travels frequently for work and gets sent out for weeks at a time. As of today, he won't be back home for another two full weeks.

I really, truly want us to experience this moment together in person. I want to see his face when he finds out, hug him, and process all these emotions together in the same room. Telling him over the phone or even video call just feels like it won't be the same, and I’m worried it might rob us of that special shared moment.

The problem is that I am an absolute open book. I am terrible at keeping secrets or surprises from him because he’s my best friend and I’m used to telling him every detail of my day. Keeping a life-altering secret like this for 14 whole days feels almost impossible, and I’m afraid he’ll sense something is up during our daily phone calls.

Soo..should I bite the bullet and tell him over the phone/video call now so we can share the news right away and I don't have to carry this alone for two weeks?

Or should I hold out so we can have that in-person reveal, and if so, how on earth do I act normal on our daily calls without giving it away?

Any advice on how to navigate this or creative ways to handle the distance right now would be so appreciated!
