my family and i always save a little bit in gold every month for the long term but now with this new policy asking people to stop buying gold for a year plus hiking the import duty to 15%, buying actual physical gold from a jeweler is just stupidly expensive.

I was looking at gold ETFs because i read that ETFs aren't actually import-neutral the fund houses still have to buy physical gold behind the scenes which defeats the whole purpose of the government's rule anyway. also the math on ETFs for long-term holding is kind of a rip-off. If you hold an ETF for 10 years those annual management fees compound quietly in the background

Because of this i’ve been looking atbuying digital gold but am I missing something here?
