Landing Jobs (Service, Junk Removal)

Hello, I live in a decent size town. Nothing huge, but no more than 30k people. Some people would consider that big, but yeah. There is a lot of people doing Junk Removal so I've realized instead of just being able to remove junk, I needed to get better at presenting myself before I need to go remove junk. I've thought of implementing some ideas and would like to know if they are good or not: A letter template for the business. Any business related letter (to real estate agents, store owners, home owners, etc) would be using the template, a binder that stores prices, restricted items, and business cards (for networking), and occasional holidays themed thank you bi-folds. None of that directly helps me land jobs, but in my mind I get to stand out in a saturated market. Any advice is welcome, thanks.

Need a hand?

Hey everyone! I'm a local guy in Atwater with a pickup truck.

If you need help with things like:

- Junk Removal

- Furniture or appliance hauling

- Garage, Shed, or storage clean outs

- Dump runs

- Heavy lifting

- Or any other odd jobs that need an extra set of hands

Feel free to send me a message. If it's something I can do, I'm happy to give you a quote or point you in the right direction if I can't.

Hope everyone's having a good week!

About Bookkeeping

I just started my business, don't have many clients. I've realized I should be bookkeeping. I have the staples receipt of the office supplies I bought for the business to stay organized. As I understand it, that is a business expense. What are other stuff I should be keeping track of? Every time someone pays me? Every time I pay someone? (Helper)

If I'm not asking too much, could some of y'all explain the bare basics of it? Nothing in specific, just enough for me to research more complex stuff. I would appreciate it. Thank y'all.

Weird marking idea (?)

There's a question mark because I don't know if it's weird. I run a junk removal service and I had this idea where I could send intro letters to realtor businesses. Basically telling them who I am and what I do. But this would be random. I'm not wondering if it works, I'm wondering if they would think I'm weird for mailing something. What do you guys think?

[Edit] I meant to write "marketing" not "marking" but apparently I can't change the title.

Finding small business owners

I've met some pretty chill small business owners these past month or two in downtown Atwater. I didn't even know those shops existed. What do you guys do and how can we communicate with or find you guys? (Google, domain, number, etc)

Do you own a Yelp, Google, or Bing business? Please read

If you own a business on Yelp, Google, or Bing (apparently?) please read this. I just got a call from +13253260067 (Texas) and asked if I owned my business. I said yeah, he said he was going to verify my Yelp, Google, and Bing. I don't have Bing. Do not fall for the scam. I'm not sure what comes after, but there were too many red flags. When I kept dodging him, he eventually hung up. The number showed up as "Telemarketer" on the incoming call.

Creative ways to mass protest?

Everyone standing there holding up signs seems too uniform. I was wondering if there were other ways to protest? These could be implemented into local protests, and they would stand out.

When hiring a service, what things do you consider?

Good Morning everyone. I'm honestly just trying to understand more regarding what makes people want to hire someone . I show up on time, smile, and dress well. I'm sure there is other stuff I am missing. I'm sure what I've listed is the bare minimum, I was hoping you guys could give me some insight.

Have I done junk removal for you before?

Good morning everyone. I really don't know how to bring this up, so I'll just get to the point. I am on google maps now. Obviously, you guys don't have to do this. If you guys would be willing and have a couple of minutes, could you guys leave a review? Thank you for taking the time to read this. https://g.page/r/CWn-9kqbVPl3EAI/review

Anybody wanna hangout?

I made a post like this a while back. The guy never showed lol. I'm M22, just trying to meet some people. Similar age by preference. I like to code stuff, I like to work (how is that related idk?), I like to go into parks and chill. Maybe cook an egg. Would anyone be down to hanging out sometime? Maybe grab a coffee or something

Looking for work

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. I'm looking for work, I'll do any labor. Last week I helped somebody move his stuff as he was moving to another house. I also picked up a fridge (junk removal). Two weeks ago (probably by now) I cleaned up some garbage from someone's garage. The before and after pic is in the pictures I attached to this post. A few weeks ago I cleaned vases for a couple of hours for a flower shop. Today I worked construction. My main thing is junk removal, but I don't turn down work. 🙂

Anyone in Atwater who can lend me a floor jack?

Hey everyone. My truck is funny and it wants to sway when I'm going 70. I need to lift it. The only jack that works is a scissor jack, the floor jack I have has issues. The scissor jack couldn't lift the front of my Ford Ranger. Does anyone have a jack I can borrow?

Looking for someone who recycles fridges

Y'all, I messed up my price! 😭

I'm hoping someone here recycles fridges. Maybe you sell used fridges and you use old ones to fix up new ones. That dump fee is a scam 🙂

If I can't find anyone, I'll take the L on this one and make sure I don't do this again. Up charging is not the move, I already gave a price. We don't do that here. 🫡

Fix patches without resetting the instance?

Can anyone guide me through how a program would work to where you can fix some bugs without restarting the program? Not DLLs, just one big loop. Would I be reading input and parsing it? Am I just making an interpreter for anything I want to run? Obviously you can't patch anything, but maybe I want to change the byte order for a socket packet or something. Without actually stopping the server.

Looking for work

Good morning y'all. I'm just a guy looking for work. I will work in any type of labor. I'll do farm work, I'll do construction work, I'll do house work. I'll adapt to anything really. I walked into a flower shop and worked cleaning vases recently. I don't know a thing about flowers. So I'll do anything that needs to be done. However, my main work is junk removal. I do not handle any hazardous waste. I take furniture, bulk, general trash (I have bags), and I can also haul bulk stuff for you. Say you bought some items from home Depot and you have no way of carrying them on your vehicle, I can transport it.

Local fruit stand east of Belcher on Santa Fe

As I said, the fruit stand is on Belcher and Santa Fe. It's East of Belcher slightly. The strawberries were $11 and the tomatoes were $3. I've honestly only tried the strawberries but they are good!! If you're into buying locally, check it out! 🙂
