Need help with my current space

24M with 2 roommates.

Apartment is feeling stale and un-cozy.

Main issues I'm having rn:

  • Place feels un-cozy and awkward
  • Would like better access to the window
  • Dining table feels too big/awkward, we barely use it so I'd love other solutions

Attached ground plan, photo of the unit before we moved in, and my proposal to change up the space

Space feels awkward. Looking for a change

Apartment feels awkward and has a bad flow.

Main issues right now:

  • Hard to center furniture with the doorways, mantel, and light fixtures all being off center from each other
  • Room feels too open, a way to divide the living room and dining room might make it feel better
  • Dining table is too big/feels awkward with the current configuration

Things I need help on:

  • Improving the flow, making the space feel less awkward
  • Finding a way to divide the space (room divider, furniture, shelves)
  • Adding an entryway spot for a shoe rack/bench/coat rack
  • Making the window more accessible and more of a focal point
  • Getting rid of the current large wooden bar and adding a smaller bar setup
