Max 2 wired on Windows

Hello,

I want to upgrade from my WF-1000XM5 to over head and Airpods Max 2 is one of my options. At home I have a Mac and I use iPhone, but at work (where I will mostly use the headphones) I have Windows. I plan to use them wired.

I have seen some posts for Max 1 that if you use them wired you can't use the microphone on Windows. Is that also true for the 2nd generation?

Based on this EQ for my Sony WF-1000XM5, would I prefer the AirPods Max 2 or WH-1000XM6?

I’ll use them mostly wired to my Windows work laptop and prefer wired to my iPhone / Mac at home
Also, for example, I listened on someone’s untuned WH-1000XM5 and I didn’t like how the voices sound, I found them to be too quiet for my liking
