I’m looking for some good Konkani Folklore books

I’m looking for good Konkani Folklore books. Stories that are popular in Konkan region, some horror stories, some children stories anything that will help me understand the culture. Even if you don’t have any book recommendations if you could share links to the stories, or if you’ve heard some and you’d be kind enough to type it in the comments I’d be grateful!

Planning a trip to Ladakh in August. Is it safe?

I’m planning a trip to Ladakh in August with my friends. Since it’s going to be raining everywhere in India, we thought this might be the best option. But we are still skeptical about the fact that will it rain a lot in Ladakh? Will it rain to the point that causes landslides and floods like in Uttarakhand?

Count of Monte Cristo - Why did Villefort keep Dante in the prison?

I’m currently on “The hundred days” chapter where Napoleon is reinstated as the Emperor of France and Villefort is still in authority. M. Morrel has come to plead the release of Dante and I’m assuming that Villefort doesn’t let this happen (I haven’t finished the chapter) but why?
Villefort was ridden with guilt when he first put Dante in the prison to save his father and like gain reputation but now he has the chance to set things straight? Why not help Dante now? Why not let him go?

Do we have character motivations or is it just for the plot?
