My honest take on sleep buds after realizing my apartment was messing with me
i bought sleep buds for the least audiophile reason possible: my apartment was slowly making me insane. not loud insane. low grade noise insane. the kind where you don’t even have a single thing to complain about because it’s never “that bad.” just traffic wash, neighbor footsteps, elevator sounds, someone’s dog, pipes, the building breathing like an old animal. after months of that i noticed i was waking up already tense. jaw tight, shoulders up, annoyed before anything happened. normal earbuds were a fail because side sleeping with them is basically ear punishment. foam plugs blocked more, sure, but i’d wake up with pressure and that weird internal body-noise thing. i ended up trying the Soundcore A30 earbuds because music earbuds doing a sleep job felt like the wrong tool. long term, the thing i care about is not bass or codecs or any of the usual review stuff. it’s whether they disappear enough that my ears don’t become the new problem. smaller tips mattered a lot for me, and volume had to stay low. too loud and it becomes another stressor. too quiet and the apartment wins. the sweet spot is boring masking that makes random sounds less sharp. i don’t think they replace fixing the environment, and i’d move tomorrow if rent wasn’t ridiculous lol. but they’ve made nights feel less like my brain is doing unpaid security work. how do people here judge this category: comfort, masking, battery, or actual sound quality?
