My honest take on sleep buds after realizing my apartment was messing with me

i bought sleep buds for the least audiophile reason possible: my apartment was slowly making me insane. not loud insane. low grade noise insane. the kind where you don’t even have a single thing to complain about because it’s never “that bad.” just traffic wash, neighbor footsteps, elevator sounds, someone’s dog, pipes, the building breathing like an old animal. after months of that i noticed i was waking up already tense. jaw tight, shoulders up, annoyed before anything happened. normal earbuds were a fail because side sleeping with them is basically ear punishment. foam plugs blocked more, sure, but i’d wake up with pressure and that weird internal body-noise thing. i ended up trying the Soundcore A30 earbuds because music earbuds doing a sleep job felt like the wrong tool. long term, the thing i care about is not bass or codecs or any of the usual review stuff. it’s whether they disappear enough that my ears don’t become the new problem. smaller tips mattered a lot for me, and volume had to stay low. too loud and it becomes another stressor. too quiet and the apartment wins. the sweet spot is boring masking that makes random sounds less sharp. i don’t think they replace fixing the environment, and i’d move tomorrow if rent wasn’t ridiculous lol. but they’ve made nights feel less like my brain is doing unpaid security work. how do people here judge this category: comfort, masking, battery, or actual sound quality?

Can we see the Iranian team on the World Cup field?

Been watching World Cups long enough to know teams like Iran are part of what makes international football special.
No superstar PR circus. No corporate football vibe. Just players fighting like every match actually matters.
That’s why it’d feel wrong if Iran missed 2026. Not because they’re favorites, but because they still bring raw emotion something modern football is slowly losing.
Meanwhile some elite teams play like sponsored marketing projects and still bottle it every four years (England heritage).
And funny how smaller nations get called anti-football for defending deep, but when Italy does it, suddenly it’s tactical genius.
The World Cup without teams like Iran feels way more sterile and commercialized than people admit.

Ring-2.6-1T launched with a free test window for coding-agent workflows

Flagging this because it seems more relevant to actual coding loops than to general AI-news posting: Ring-2.6-1T is now out, and there’s a free developer access window through May 15.
The launch angle is pretty clearly “reasoning model for coding + agents.” They’re calling it a trillion-parameter model, pushing plan-first workflow strength, and highlighting PinchBench / ClawEval results alongside Claude Code compatibility. It also has adjustable Reasoning Effort settings, which sounds relevant for anyone who cares about when to use a cheaper/faster worker mode vs. a slower deeper-thinking mode.
What I’d actually want to know is whether high mode is good enough for the everyday Cursor-style loop: patching files, preserving structure, not drifting halfway through a task, and handling multi-step repo work without constant babysitting.
The free week at least makes it easy for people to test that themselves instead of guessing from launch graphics.

White rings have become increasingly common.

White streaks show up on shower screens, glasses, and pans almost instantly. It’s the kind of everyday annoyance that slowly chips away at your patience — and before long, your confidence in your tap water as well.

Trying to wrap my head around whether the Golden Visa fund route still makes sense now that rules and timelines have shifted. From what i’m seeing, you’re looking at 500k into a regulated fund, 5+ years of holding, and then a fairly slow grind with AIMA before you even think about long‑term residence or citizenship.
Some folks use big international outfits henley & partners, Mercan Group etc.,, others seem to prefer a straight Portuguese immigration lawyer like Portugal-Golden-visa-net or CMS and then choose the fund separately so there’s less conflict of interest.
for anyone already in Portugal,,, if you had to start over in 2026, would you still choose Golden Visa via funds, or just go for D7, work visa and accept more physical time in the country instead of tying up that much capital?

How many fellow fans started supporting our Arsenal after the 05/06 final like me
To be honest, back then the internet wasn't developed, and finding video streams was really tough. I hoped to see our team in another Champions League final one day, and that wait lasted 20 years. This is the closure my childhood needed

It was only after I moved house that I first seriously considered filtering my water. At first, I just noticed that the water itself tasted a bit flat and slightly harsh. Then I noticed that within two or three days, there was already a white film at the bottom of the kettle, and even the tea seemed to have a less clear colour than before. Now, every time I fill a glass, I can’t help but wonder whether this water is really fit to drink every day.
