About the state of the ending (spoilers)

Obviously, the two endings are, at the very least, a Little controversial. I have seen alot of discussion on them and actually a fair amount of evidence for both. One of the points I keep seeing brought up in favor of Mealle's ending though has kind of stuck out to me and I think may, or may not, deserve some more discussion.

Obviously in Verso's ending the canvas is erased and everyone inside of it is as well, effectively a genocide. However...

Thats not his fault, right?

Renoir has already effected the genocide. Everyone has already been gommaged.

The fact that Mealle Can bring everyone back is established, but am I not correct in remembering that in the end the only individuals actually brought back by the end are Lune and Sciel? I think this warrants more discussion, personally. There's alot more to unpack with this, like how it seems to be a very pointed meta narrative about our own, real world relationships with fictional characters, but what do you think?

(Second post with a fixed title because I am, as always, a dumbass lol)
