Coming here from collecting 40k for years. I've loved the designs of Chaos Warriors since 2006 and was looking to finally get started. Not sure what system I want to use but more importantly I really like both the Chaos Warriors boxes that are out (or about to be for the new fantasy ones) and was wondering If they can be used together to add depth to the army designs?

As long as weapons and bases are correct, I should be able to mix and match them right?

Also, what game system would people recommend, Fantasy or AoS?

so with the new updates we have two ways of changing pledges with either the daemon prince battle formation or the brand of the unaligned. how does this work with the banners aside from the dread banner.

a friend of mine told me that let's say i have chosen with the slaanesh banner and change it's pledge to khorne through either methode, that the banner reapplies the pledge to slaanesh as the text of the banner says that you have the pledge of slaanesh but keeps the pledge to khorne given to you.

how accurate is this? i am unsure about this but it would be very powerful to have +2 attacks and a 3d6 charge drop the lowest. i believe an faq should clear this up if you can or can't

Aqshy has come upon us.
To me, the last months have been hard. The new battle tomes come with an amount of rules & synergies that make our rules feel each time more older and weaker. I am fighting an uphill battle.
Yet, some of the Aqshy tools may be of some help. The daemon prince is coming back in the game, so here come my rule question & check up :

- A daemon prince with deathmonger hero trait, fights twice, having Strike last for the second activation. We give him the rune of murder, from aqshy infernal treasure. Pledged to khorne, that gives him 6+1 attacks, doubled with the rune (or +D6A), to a maximum of 13 attacks, two time, 26 attacks if he lives to fight a second time.

Now my question : deathmonger gives him strike last when we chose to fight twice (once per battle), but if his ability Immortal champion on 4+ rolled successfully, shouldn't he : 1) Fight first, then 2) His fight first ability negates fight last, and so could he be picked to fight normally? (after all fight first have been resolved).

And so : same principle for Belakor & chosen/varanguards? And last one : Belakor & daemon prince, daemon prince fails it's 4+ immortal champion, can belakor give him another chance to fight fist with his own ability?

I searched around but couldn't find the answer.

TLDR : Daemon Prince rolls a 4+ (Immortal Champion) and gets Strike-First, then uses Deathmonger to fight twice, which gives him Strike-Last. Does his second activation happen last, or normally?

so brand of apoplexy sounds crazy. +1 damage if fury level is 7 i think an autotake with chosen or even warriors.

darkflame pendant i could see on a nurgle daemon prince to make him tankier or if you want to make a beatstick go for the rune of murder. could double up on this with deathmonger for fight twice as the extra attacks last until the end of the turn.

ashy karkadrak lord i could see if running varangaurd. ashy warriors could be a decent anvil with pledge of nurgle as you can easily get a 5+ ward with them. they are more of a counterpunch unit then an offensive one like the book version. they could be good to stand on a point and dare the enemy to charge them as they get anti charge +1 rend and strike first when charged if your fury level is high enough.

I love how most of the slaves to darkness models looks (CSM player) especially the varanguard, im wondering if this is a reasonable 2k list to start playing and what im missing, i know about the wizard issue but im not sure how to get around that
