Est ce que c'est un problème de ne pas avoir de magicien dans cette liste ?

How's this as a 1,500 point list?

Have only played Spearhead but have been toying with the idea of making the leap to full AoS at some point. Having played 40k for a while now I've found that 1,500 is my preferred points limit. High enough to bring a decent amount of units but not as overwhelming as 2,000.

How's this as a list? Wondering if i should change the Varanguard to a reinforced squad of Chosen instead?

Technically the first of a much larger Slaves army…

Here are my first fantasy chaos units … the Tarantulos Brood. Many more to come for glory in the eyes of the gods and to repel the invading Sigmarite hordes.

Warriors pledged to specific Chaos Gods?

Hello everyone,

newbie to AOS and Slaves to Darkness. I always loved the bulky style of Chaos Warriors and the huge shields and finally decided it's time to start an army. Bought the Spearhead box and I am now assembling them and considering options for painting. I have seen some people painting their Slaves in colors of specific Chaos Gods their army is pledged to, in their head canon. How does it work lore and gameplay-wise?

And if you have done this yourself, would you be willing to show some pictures of paintjobs and conversions for inspiration?

My take on Urkhan, the Dark Warden

Had lots of fun with this lovely mini. Went for an original color scheme - really hope you like this!

Still need work on the camera settings, not sure if I can improve at all with my wonky off-brand phone :^|

Finally finished my 2nd attempt at painting skin mini. Ended up giving him first attempt att TMM sword. While not great by any means I'm just happy to be able to paint again after a rough patch in life.

Finally got around to finishing my 2nd layered skin practice mini after an extra brutal period of depression. Decided to attempt eyebrows after a comments on a previous post encouraged me to give it a go.

Cameo by first attemp guy and some pics of the process included.

Next on the practice docket is body paint for my darkoaths and learning to paint dark skin, so if you have any advice or tricks for that feel free to share em! Might do some non practice minis in between tho.

Sorry for the long wait on the update and thanks for being an awesome and helpful community to help piant newbies like me grow.

The Challenger

After the last points reductions (that reduced almost everything I had in my army by 10 points each) I suddently found myself with enough overhead to add a Chaos Lord, so here they are!

I really tried to lean into the OSL this time. With past models, I was always a bit afraid to add too much glow, but this time I went all in to practice. I really love the result, and hope you like it as well!

Bonus picture of the Lord in a small warband I put together for WarCry!

cannonade cogfort vs curstesteel battery shooting

a lot of chaos players like to include the cursesteel battery RoR to help the mainly melee armies of chaos (except skaven) to get some shooting in their list. i wanted to see how well the cogfort could be used as a gun platform compared to the artillery piece of the cursesteel battery.

the cogfort does a lot more damage but except the godbreaker cannon it is only 12 inches of range so you do have to get close with it to deal the max amount of damage it can. the artillery pieces could hang more back on the board and still shoot at max efficiency.

the cannonade cogfort is also of course 80 points more expensive and you don't get a wizard as an extra bonus.

Alpha strike army: one drop with Belakor or two drops with Abraxia and Gaunt?

Got hard beating two days ago from sylvaneth as I played too slow. I’m thinking of one-drop alpha strike army:

Slaves to Darkness Spearhead feels too strong

Hi everyone,
a good friend and I got into Warhammer a few months ago. We started with Spearhead boxes and are now slowly expanding them into full armies.
I recently bought the Slaves to Darkness: Bloodwind Legion Spearhead, but honestly, I’m not sure I’m enjoying it.
So far I’ve played it against Nurgle, Skaven, and Sylvaneth, and I won all of those games without much trouble. I usually play Flesh-eater Courts, and with them I always feel like I have to think strategically, plan my moves carefully, and really work for the win.
With Slaves to Darkness, it felt completely different. I basically just charged in, hit extremely hard, and removed everything. The Chaos Knights in particular felt way too powerful compared to what the other Spearheads could deal with.
It honestly wasn’t very fun to win, because the army felt so much stronger than the others. It didn’t feel like a close or tactical game.
So my question is:
Does Slaves to Darkness feel different when played as a regular AoS army, or do they still feel this overwhelmingly strong?
I’m not sure whether I want to keep the Spearhead, because right now it doesn’t really give me the kind of tactical, balanced games I enjoy.
BTW: my friend and I are fairly evenly matched as players. I’ve lost plenty of games against him with other armies, so I really don’t think it’s just because of his playstyle. 😄
Would love to hear your experiences, especially from people who have played both Spearhead and full-size AoS with Slaves to Darkness.

Edit: I only set up the Knights in the second round.
