Hello! I’m an Alaska Native artist who specializes in beadwork and I could use some advice on an upcoming project!

A well known story in my community is how raven stole the sun. I will be creating a 24k gold and black beaded formline raven (similar to the one pictured here) but I want to figure out a way to make the sun light up in it’s mouth. This completed piece will then be attached to traditional regalia (vest or dance blanket) to be worn and danced in

My plan, so far, is to cut a 1.25” hole in mouth area (where the sun is in the pic), find a semi-transparent disc to cover the hole, and install LED lights under the disc. Preferably, lights that can be changed out when needed

Does this sound doable? Are there any LED lights you’d recommend I research? Any common mistakes I should be aware of?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
