I have a Quick Mill Vetrano 2B Evo, and a Rancilio Rocky grinder.

The Rocky is… strange. I removed the brace and just hold the button down with one hand and hold the portafilter under the spout in the other. It’s finicky, and it’s slow. It’s very hard to clean, grounds get everywhere inside of it, and basically I just want a new grinder.

Here are tree that piqued my interest:
Mazzer Mini G $$$
Fiorenzato Allground Sense $$
Mahlkonig x54 $$

I have nearly completely eliminated the Mahlkonig I think, but I am curious of reviews. It’s still over $1k and it’s made in China. I feel like the screen and electronics might be gimmicky over time?

What I like about the Mazzer is that it dispenses into a doser. I use several different portafilters, so I would not want to have to re-adjust the machine based on using different portafilters. (I’m usually pulling a shot while I fill another portafilter up for my wife, etc. I never just make “one” shot).

The machines that dispense directly into the portafilter do seem very convenient, but even my experience with the Rocky was difficult, and messy. It spills out of the portafilter, it’s just kinda goofy.

What I would like:
FAST grinding
Clean / not spilling grounds everywhere
Not having a ton of grounds left in the chute

I guess I am open to either a dosing cup, or directly into the portafilter, but am I on the right track here? Does anyone have any recommendations?
