Gamestation Go n00bish questions

Hello!

I just got the Go for Father’s Day and I’m really loving it so far but I do have a few questions and would love some help please.

  1. What’s the best community to follow to network with other users?

  2. I got the SD card to work quickly for games, but it seems like the menu to get to it is one time access? Like if I choose to not access it, there doesn’t appear to be a way or icon that lets me get back to it if I decide to use it later.

  3. Oddly I’m loving the Balls of Steel collection though I don’t know where I can go in each game table to access and look at my high scores. Is there a way to see it?

  4. Some of these mame titles fire up but there’s audio reverberations like in after burner II. Other titles like Cruisin’ USA and Cyberball have audio issues and run incredibly slow because it’s trying to replicate dual cab behavior. These worked on I guess later versions of mame for me fine. So did stuff like marvel super heroes. Why didn’t Atari/ my arcade pick a newer version of mame or are they working on adding support to additional titles? -(The cyberball one blows my mind as it is an Atari game. Don’t know why they didn’t do a reloaded version of it either…)

Thanks for your help, feedback and suggestions!

Just got it!

So far I’m pretty happy with this little guy but I’m jumping into the deep end of the pool with wanting to customize it a bit more.

The pinball games were entertaining but I’ve got to get my mame and nes stuff on here.

I can’t believe- and I’m hoping Atari watches this forum- that they didn’t include a working version of Cyberball (arcade) on here.

I noticed someone got doom working? Is there a trusted place i should go where these games are at?

Is there a preferred micro sd I should get, and how much space should I aim for?

Thank you!

Went to my first UFL26 game: Here are my thoughts

I’m a Brahmas refugee and honestly being butt hurt about things still I wanted to give it a shot since a few of my guys play for the B’Hawks and Gamblers. Plus a free bobblehead. Why not.

I got what I thought would be the best seat in the house. 50 yard line front row, right behind the bench. I should’ve known. It’s a soccer stadium, and while I’m closer to the action than ever, it’s more level to the playing field. This made it hard to follow the game unless I was watching the big screen in the end zone. Players were level to the action and it was hard to follow because of that. Also sitting on the visitors side does made a difference in viewing quality on the big screen (because it all feels reversed). The seats themselves were really nice to sit in. I was within calling distance of many coaches and players.

The seats were club seating, so it was quite… bougie. Free food and a different offering than your usual concession faire. Free drinks too, and I’m talking all the booze, mixed drinks, and soft drinks I could handle. I had baked chicken, asparagus and beets, a roll and a small cookie. Later I went back for pizza. Note to self: bring the wife for the free drinks next time.

All in all it cost me 94 bucks. I noticed that most of the people in said club seating stayed inside the club area upstairs. This made the attendance look less than it was on tv. It was truly a wine and cheese crowd. Not sure why all the tvs inside weren’t on the game though.

Fans there echoed general Reddit sentiment. No advertising in htown coupled with a ‘Brahmas-like’ ‘24 schedule (ie worst possible draw for days/ times and games) impacted attendance. A few of the players and coaches complained openly to me about the attendance from stl. I don’t think it was as high as announced. I drove up under 30 minutes before the gates opened and got 20 dollar parking barely across the street from the door. I think 6 pm on a Saturday or maybe Friday is the latest the league should go. Maybe Sunday on a holiday weekend works too. Why? You can pull reasonably from 150-200 miles away from die hard spring ball enthusiasts like myself. Last note on fans- ran into quite a few first time this season gamblers fans. Just couldn’t make it work except for last night because of the schedule.

Overall I had a good time. I mean, I’d consider coming back. The biggest factor in changing my mind was the down to earth friendliness of the players and coaches. Many of them signed autographs, stayed late and had conversations with us. I was able to get a word in with AJ and forgave him for the mess in SA. We had a good laugh. Hakeem Butler insisted he could cover Wemby one on one. HC Proehl asked me what I really thought of the 23 opener when StL came back in the final 2 mins to win in SA. This is what the league should really focus on. This is what other competition already does and could help the ufl stand out from the nfl: Approachability and access.

TLDR version:

Club seating hurts optics. Seats on the front row will make you feel disconnected from the action on the visitor side. Non football loving spouses will appreciate the free mixed drinks.

The Gamblers attendance was hurt by a poor schedule. Many fans I talked to there were only able to attend this game. League can maybe pull in a few more die hard fans from up to 200 miles away with a 6pm-7pm Friday /Saturday start.

I had a good time and what helped the most was accessible and friendly players and coaches who went the extra mile for fans. League should really focus on that. No other final conclusions pulled.

Forgetting she left the water on…

Hello. Long time lurker. First time poster.

My mother as of late has been forgetting to turn off the bathroom faucet. Unfortunately she slow clogged it with her hair by taking hobo baths in it. Recently she left it on and it flooded the bathroom. Thankfully I came upon it before it was too, too late. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me with this, or has anyone dealt with this before? How did you handle it? Thankyou
