Inequality causing 100,000 extra deaths a year from heat and cold in Europe

Inequality causing 100,000 extra deaths a year from heat and cold in Europe

Complete B.S.

Europe is wealthier than most countries regardless of EU nation. It's certainly wealthier than many African, South American & Southeast Asia developing countries.

Yet some are making gross guesses at income effect leading to more or fewer heat/cold deaths. It's all that extra heat generated by climate change, & heating in particular.

Meanwhile, EU/UK folks up north keep going on holiday to hotter south Europe...when instead they could buy air conditioning & better heating/insulation.

This is just another excuse for requested income redistribution disguised as climate alarm.

Air pollution caused by coal power plants is significantly reducing the energy output of solar installations

More proof that Chinese coal still provides much of their power and depletes the usefulness of their solar.

Global map of 2,213 cities reveals why some urban heat traps are worsening

Study confirms that China and Western high-rises, streets, & parking lots trap nighttime heat, whereas suburbs hold more daytime heat.

So the idea that we all need to live in 15- minute congested cities for mass transit is flawed.

Plus, the study supports that global average temperature is rising due to higher day averages of many smaller cities. Higher night averages of far fewer large cities raise temperature less, except in China where large cities are the norm.

Associations of Human Cognitive Abilities with Elevated Carbon Dioxide Concentrations in an Enclosed Chamber

RCP8.5 is gone. We won't reach 3500 let alone 5000 ppm (submarine & OSHA limit) at 5 ppm increase per year for another 550-700 years, if ever.

The conclusion of this study notes no significant performance degradation at 1500, 3500, or 5000 ppm.

My question is wouldn't increased plant growth caused by CO2 greening offset increased CO2 ppm growth by increasing oxygen and absorbing CO2 via photosynthesis?

And of course if you believe in saturation:

- year 2100: 2C global avg at 750 ppm

- year 2300: 3C at 1500 ppm

- year 2600: 4C at 3000 ppm

By year 2600, we've figured out how to reduce CO2/methane output, increased earth greening...and kept indoor windows partially open during warmer nights & winters/springs/falls.

Climate pseudoscience debunked: Livestock methane fears are baseless

If New Zealand actually eliminated all its cattle & sheep, it potentially would reduce global temperature by .000008 degrees Celsius.

Other information noted is water vapor is 50,000 ppm vs. CO2 just 420 ppm.

Methane fingerprints sharpen global emissions map, pointing to China, India and Central Africa

Holy crap, they admitted that China, etc. is more to blame. Did you know that Asian rice emits lots of methane?

Solar Power Is So Big in Europe That Electricity Is Being Wasted

One of your moderators posted that you essentially need 3 times the solar, wind, & battery requirement due to capacity average power and non-optimum weather constraints.

You also need more HV DC transmission lines, transformers, inverters due to numerous remote smaller MW solar farm sites. That means more land leased for both panels, turbines, and powerlines. It results in more NIMBY for those not wanting to see/hear the offending power source/lines using up farmland.

In the summer, or on bright sun or heavy wind days, you end up having too much power, driving negative prices. Curtailment and backup natural gas costs then result.

Is this any way to run an electricity grid?

As you build more renewables as a percentage of the total power required you need more powerlines & batteries. Your moderator already showed that batteries are a huge expense that will remain high despite declining costs if you want more than 4-hours backup.

A perfect example of how climate alarmists distort the value of resources vs. theoretical climate/environmental damage. The San Francisco author illustrates why California pays so much more for energy, and why, in part, Trump was interested in using Greenland more effectively.

One Iranian nuclear weapon could black out America

Is this a major issue obstructing the all-electric transition? Same for potential cut-off switches on solar panels & inverters made in China.

You can always have a backup diesel generator running gas pumps if the electronics aren't fried or can be repaired. Does natural gas power have similar vulnerability?

If nothing else, it shows the vulnerability to AI data centers and the reason why Iran can't have a nuclear weapon.

We must defeat the Chinese Trojan horse in America’s supply chain

Chad Wolf worked for Trump 45 in DHS.

He warns that Chinese solar panels and EVs may have internet access, related cut-off switches, and cameras. Mexican BYD & other EVs are already crossing our borders into California from Tijuana.

Heat aggravates ozone readings. I had an argument elsewhere with someone defending the purple-haired Congresswoman who got schooled by EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin.

The commenter appeared not to realize we no longer sell leaded gas in the U.S. since January 1996 & started selling unleaded in the 1970s for newer cars. Catalytic converters help cars now emit CO2 & N2, plus water instead of carbon monoxide, etc.

The now defunct Endangerment Finding attempted to say CO2 was a pollutant. Compare Phoenix to India, Asia, & China pollution carried to the U.S.

Cracks me up. Yesterday, I mentioned EuroNews seemed to be waking up to climate fraud. Today, they blame men-for-being-men and not kowtowing to climate alarm shaming.

Of course, the climate change sub-Reddit ran with it, immediately. Climate scientists must think they can shame us into being stupid enough to dismantle mankind's progress made possible, largely, by fossil fuels.

u/Adventurous_Motor129 — 16 days ago

Are liberal news sources finally figuring out that renewables have large downsides? Spain & Portugal, two of the nations most invested, also had a huge blackout.

California (4th largest global economy), also is discovering fossil fuels remain essential. Transferring that sourcing to others is proving costly.

Hey all - if there's facts that are wrong in my post, please do let me know.

If you just want to get upset that I'm not saying wonderful things about renewables, well knock yourself out as long as you keep it civil. But I won't reply to those comments.

And for those saying renewables aren't baseload (or any other way of saying need to be providing consistent power 95% of the time) - Colorado's plan is for an all renewable system that provides 95% of our power. So yes, for Colorado, this 95% is required.

If you're short on time, watch the explanation of the first slide, and then skip to 31:15 when Andy May concludes formal (complex) remarks & Tom Nelson asks questions.

The science is not settled, or simple, so I'm confident few understand it and 73% of the Globe is covered by water that is historically not measured well.

Dr. May points out there is a vast difference in temperature on the very surface, to 1 mm below, and to much deeper depths. Satellites only see the surface & he says temperature just below can vary by half a degree Celsius throughout the day from the very thin surface that satellites see.

There also is time spent showing most Global populated areas aren't getting warmer to include most occupied areas of South America, Africa, the U.S., Canada, and West Australia. Sorry Europe, you are warming but maybe the AMOC can help...;)
