I want to make sure these are a good size for me and will break in nicely.

Should I stay at 38 or go up one more size ?

I am wanting to know how often you deep clean your cats litter box, I scoop it 2 or 3 times a day and never leave it soiled; I always put fresh litter at the end of the week. We use a large stainless steel box and clumping litter the arm n hammer slide kind. Then 1 time month a month I take it apart and deep clean it and dry it out and put brand new litter.

What other methods do you use and how often do you recommend deep cleaning?

I have never noticed any situations when my kitten did want to use her box.

This is our first kitten.
