I want to use a P2 over Starmie in FRLG OU, is it possible? They both learn boltbeam and recover. Starmie solidifies its place in the meta with its high speed, rapid spins, and surf/hydropump. I’ve got a bulky P2 built for an upcoming tourney with Hidden Power Grass.

I like the extra bulk on P2 since I play a slower game with TTAR, and I like the limit resistances since fighting isn’t overrunning the format the way electric moves are. I’m just worried about the disadvantage I play at by not taking the top of the meta. Can someone talk me off the ledge?

Not from facing one, but from the recruit screen. I built one up in Showdown and my god it’s awful. Probably the most underwhelming Pokemon I’ve ever played with. What’s your Mega Pidgeot story?
