RESELLER ARRESTED ON CHILD TRAFFICKING LABOR INVESTIGATION:
#News A 26-year-old man allegedly gave a 14-year-old boy Adderall to keep him awake for late-night labor, forced him to process hundreds of clothing items for online resale, then abandoned him alone beside a Los Angeles freeway in the middle of the night.
Brandon Holguin targeted the teenager months earlier at a thrift store before the situation escalated into an alleged child labor trafficking scheme. Investigators say the boy was taken to a motel in Los Angeles County and ordered to sort, photograph, and catalog massive piles of secondhand clothing for online sales. The work allegedly continued for hours without stopping.
Holguin gave the teenager a substance containing amphetamine, commonly known as Adderall, so he could continue working late into the night. Authorities say the drug made the boy sick. During the ordeal, the suspect allegedly confiscated the victim’s phone so his family could not contact him, later convincing him to get rid of it to avoid being “tracked” by his mother. Prosecutors say the phone was sold, while the victim’s jewelry was pawned using fake identification documents.
Holguin planned to transport the boy hundreds of miles to Northern California before suddenly abandoning him on the side of a Los Angeles freeway after midnight. The teenager managed to reach a nearby business, where employees called 911. He was reunited with his family later that day.
What do you think about this case? Thoughts?
I honestly think that this is not his first time doing something like this
