I'm currently a technical support engineer in the semiconductor industry with about 10 years' experience. I am looking for opportunities in the Thousand Oaks/Ventura County/SFV areas. If you know anyone who is hiring for an engineer, specifically in manufacturing/industrial, please let me know! I'd be happy to share my resume via DM.

I am currently in the Bay Area, but the lifestyle up here doesn't agree with me, I lived in the TO area previously and miss it dearly.

I have already applied for positions at Amgen, Teradyne, and some of the others, but I'm hoping that this post will help me do some real networking rather than shotgunning my application everywhere.

Hi everyone, def trying not to crash out as I type this. My fiance and I are getting married 8/14/26. We have booked ALL of our vendors and just now heard from local PD that our wedding venue has a cease order for all events because the estate owners NEVER got proper licensing/permits to host events in their zoning area.

Apparently 3 other couples are in the same boat as us and 2 have looked for other venues - 1 of which has not even been given their deposit back.We are having a meeting with the venue owner today to see if they admit anything to us, but at this point we've lost so much trust in them since we heard of all this from someone else. Seems like they weren't planning on telling us and were willing to risk being shut down for our wedding.

We are wanting to find villa/estate style venues in Ventura County that can accommodate 150 guests and allow external caterers to avoid losing more money with ending contracts with current vendors. The venue also must allow flames and be available for 8hr (ideally 2-10pm or more) since it will be an Indian wedding. We don't really want an indoor or ranch style venue. And mountains might be a no go since it'll be outdoor and August so the heat will only worsen in those areas. But we'll take any recs- waiting reply from Hummingbird's Nest, Villa Amodei which we loved was max guest of 75, in talks with McCormick Ranch.

I am going to be visiting TO soon. I need to get takeout for dinner for about 40 people, and I'm not sure what restaurants are good for this. Something like the Chipotle catering? But not that. Open to ideas!

How much is it? I love the idea of a gym that’s not filled with teenage boys and is clean but I’m always suspicious when a place doesn’t list prices or wants you to take a tour. Equinox is expensive but the one out here isn’t even very clean. If you’re a member what’s your opinion of it?

My parents bought their first house in the 1970s for 20k in Hawthorne, then the market went really high they sold it made double and bought their home in TO for 82k. This makes me laugh and feel depressed at the same time lol. I don’t know when I’ll be able to afford a house here!

A traditional election requires you to choose a single candidate and hope for the best. In a crowded field, as in this year's election, voters have to choose between voting for candidates they believe in and voting for those they think are likely to survive the primary and advance to the general. Vote splitting is on everyone's mind, and voters, Democrat and Republican alike, are struggling to choose which candidate to support in hopes that their choice makes the final two.

And, of course, Independent and Third-Party candidates are entirely left out of the process and labeled as a "throw-away" vote. (Sorry, largest block of voters who are registered as Independents. No soup for you!)

With Ranked Choice Voting, we could eliminate primaries and two-round runoff formats altogether and have a single, high-turnout November election with many candidates from across the political spectrum. Voters could vote for their preference, and constituents would get consensus winners.

No more strategic voting, no more vote splitting, no more lesser of two evils.

All candidates in this election are still in the race and were polling at or above 1% support in recent polls.
