I need help with my first PC build

Hey everyone,

I’m planning my first PC build and I’m looking for recommendations around the $700–800 range. I could push it closer to $1000 if I save a bit longer, but I’d really rather stay below that if possible.

I’m located in Colombia, so pricing and availability here can be a bit different compared to the US.

The budget is only for the PC itself, including the case. I already have a monitor and keyboard, so peripherals don’t need to be included.

My use case is pretty moderate overall:

Image editing

Some video editing

Gaming at 1080p (1440p would be nice if possible)

I’m completely fine with 60 FPS. I’m not trying to play at ultra competitive settings or chase 200+ FPS, ray tracing, or 4K. I just want games to look good and feel smooth.

DLSS support would be nice, but not mandatory.

Games I play / want to play:

Elden Ring

Cyberpunk 2077

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

The main upcoming game I care about is Stranger Than Heaven, so I’d like the build to comfortably handle something around that level when it releases this winter.

I care much more about price-to-performance than “future proofing” or max settings. Used parts are also fine if they make sense.

Any CPU/GPU combo recommendations or full part lists would be appreciated.

[Budget $700-$800] Looking for a laptop (or PC build) for 1080p/60fps gaming and light editing

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a laptop, though I'm also open to a desktop PC build if it fits a similar price range.

My main goal is gaming, but I don't need anything overkill. I don't care about Ray Tracing, 4K, or hitting 200 FPS. I am perfectly happy playing at 1080p / 60 FPS with decent/high textures.

I also do some light image and video editing, but nothing professionally heavy. The game I’m looking forward to the most is Stranger Than Heaven (releasing this winter), so I'm saving up specifically to be able to run it smoothly.

Budget: $700 - $800 USD. I could stretch it closer to $1000 if it’s a massive jump in performance and highly recommended, but I’d really prefer to stay within the $800 mark if possible.

Any recommendations for current laptops or specific component builds I should look out for? Thanks in advance!

"Hi everyone! I recently acquired a Wii that already has the Homebrew Channel and USB Loader GX installed. I'm looking to learn how to properly format my USB/SD card and the correct file structure to use so the loader recognizes my backups.

Also, I’m a bit lost on the best way to manage these files safely. Any guidance on the setup process or a pointer toward a reliable guide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!"
