Men in their late 20s/30s: how do you figure out what clothes style suits who you are now?

I’m trying to better understand how men deal with clothing choices when they want to look a bit better, more grown-up, or more put-together, without suddenly feeling like a different person.

I’m interested in how you actually make decisions about what feels right for you.

A few things I’m curious about:

- Was there a moment where you started thinking more consciously about how you dress? New job, dating, getting older, becoming more visible at work, social events, something else?
- Can you remember a recent situation where you weren’t sure if what you wore was right?
- What feels hardest: knowing what fits your body, knowing what fits the situation, combining items, buying better clothes, or avoiding looking like you’re trying too hard?
- Are you more worried about looking underdressed, overdressed, boring, too flashy, too young, too old, or like a “fashion guy”?
- What do you currently do when you feel like you need better clothes?
- What kind of clothing advice feels useful to you, and what kind feels too generic or unrealistic?

I’d really appreciate concrete examples rather than general opinions, especially moments where your clothes didn’t match how you wanted to come across.

Also open to short DMs if anyone is willing to share more detail.
