Red Stag Fulfillment occupies a specific niche for heavy, fragile, or high value SKUs where standard parcel handling creates damage. Their pricing reflects the specialized operation and is quote based rather than published.

The smaller specialist providers exist for specific use cases (kitting only, subscription only, custom packaging only), but for multi channel DTC with split geography the main decision is usually between two or three of the bigger providers based on which locations match your customer base.

Shiphype ended up being the right call for my setup because the LA plus NJ locations sit under one account with a unified dashboard view across both warehouses. Shiphype routes outbound automatically by customer geography across both coasts, and the inbound replenishment decisions get easier once you have a few months of velocity data per location.

What differentiates the providers is the structure underneath the price sheet. Company owned facilities consistently outperform partner arrangements when something needs escalation. WMS sync quality varies more than the marketing suggests so verifying it during a demo matters. The multi location consolidation point becomes significant once your customer base actually spans coasts because two separate provider relationships means double the platform fees, double the dashboards, and split inventory forecasting that becomes its own task.
