Hi Ya’ll, been trying to record some stuff on my tascam. Been having a lot of fun recording guitar, drum machine, synths and stacking things but i seem to run into an issue when recording vocals. They seem so clean and very forward no matter how much i add fx such as reverb or a compressor and just get lost when i lower the volume on the channel. Kinda curious how people get that classic lofi vocals sound thats more in the mix. I only have a shure sm-58 and was thinking maybe getting a sm-57 would make it better?

Hi ya’ll, I’m moving to sf this summer and been playing around florida for a couple of years. We have this great open mic synth night in Gainesville called Squared Wave and I was kinda looking for somthing like that around here. Im into hardcore techno, gabber, ambient, and noise shit and just looking for places to catch other artists, meet like minded people and maybe play a set or two.
