Random memory I had this morning

A few decades ago, I worked in a small office in NC. They sold and repaired copy/fax machines for local businesses. We were allowed to play our own music while we worked. I had my own office, so I didn't have earphones. I didn't play my music loud, just enough to hear but not spill out into the hallway.

A salesperson from the back walked in while Metallica's "Enter Sandman" was playing. He kinda stood there for a moment in the doorway, then nodded and said in a neutral tone, "Yeah, I can see you listening to Metallica," and walked away.

That's always stood out to me, because... what did he mean by that?

ER visit

So, my husband finally went to the doctors the other day, and his blood pressure was so high (like 215/120) that they sent him to the ER. He was also shaking and sweating. The emergency room doctor diagnosed him with alcohol withdrawal. They gave him Vallum and Phenobarbital in the ER and sent him home with a script for Vallum.

He has a follow up with the doctor this Wednesday.

I don't think this will be his turning point because he's still trying to rationalize everything. He's saying, "But I didn't have anything to drink since Friday". This all happened on Wednesday. And things like "I don't drink that much." And so on. But who knows?

I also think he's going to take the fact that all of his bloodwork came back as "normal" or "good" as a sign he's fine. Notwithstanding the fact that he ended up in the ER for the first time in his adult life.

Anyway, that's where we are. Will it be his wake up call? time will tell. I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

Seriously, what's up with everyone wearing their coats inside? One of the first things I do whenever I enter a house or building is take my coat of, but I see people in the vertical drama eating full meals with puffer jackets on. It makes my teeth itch. Are the studios cold? What's going on here?

This might be specific to my husband and me but it really drives me nuts. If I have a migraine, he has "something of a headache" himself. If I have a cold, allergies, or a stomach ache, he's feeling a little ill too. Even though it's perfectly clear that he's feeling fine. Whenever I'm fatigued (I have fibromyalgia) he claims to be "a little tired".

It's not just illnesses, yesterday I mentioned I came from a tall family (most of the men on both sides of my family are over six feet) and he was like, "Yeah, we have tall people in my family too." I was like, "Dude, I've met your family, you totally do not." He has like one uncle who's six foot tall. Everyone else... no.

Look, I love my husband, but this habit of his pets my peeves. I'm sure other people must hate this too. Right?
