20 lb loss in 4 months

20 lb loss from April to August! 🥹

Starting weight: 172 lbs
Current weight: 151 lbs
Age: 25
Height: 5’5

I started at 0.5 mg weekly and worked my way up to 3.0 mg, which is where I’ve currently been since July.

For exercise, I do cardio (mostly incline walking) at least 4x/week and weight train at least 2x/week using dumbbells. I average around 7-10k steps a day, but I don’t really pay attention to my steps. I mostly just pay attention to my overall active calories burned each day.

Starting reta was very important to me because I have hypothyroidism and weight loss has always been a struggle for me, even when I was consistent with the gym and my diet. I also struggled a lot with constant food noise before starting reta, so having that quiet down, along with the decrease in inflammation and “puffiness” I used to have, has honestly been such a huge change for me.

I’m very happy with how things are going so far, and I’m currently focusing on body recomp, so I’m excited to see what’s next!

If you have any questions, please let me know! I’d be happy to answer.

heart rate increase is no joke

i know the reta increases heart rate, but this is just insane 😭

for context, this was from a normal treadmill walk at just 3.2–3.4 mph with a 1% incline. i couldn’t even increase the incline without my heart rate climbing even higher, and i was getting exhausted doing a walk that i normally do 3-4x a week without any issues.

i’m currently on my second week of 2.0 mg and haven’t really had any side effects besides this one, so i’m hoping it settles down eventually.

do the insomnia + heart palps eventually go away?

i’ve been on reta for almost 6 weeks now and i’m currently pinning 1.0 mg. all the other side effects i had in the beginning like headaches, skin sensitivity, diarrhea, etc all went away after the first 2-3 weeks, but the insomnia and heart palps are still happening.

the weird thing is it only happens the first night after my injection, then i’m completely fine the rest of the week. at this point i’m willing to deal with one bad night of sleep and the palps for 24 hours if it means everything else is smooth, but it’s still not very fun lol.

did they ever eventually go away for anyone else?
