If you are a zero-tip cafe/restaurant, how do you benchmark your prices against the competition?

Do you think that regular customers (we're near a big university campus) mentally compare the list price or the +tip price?

Our nearby competitor cafés don't "force" a tip, but their checkout screen offers tip options at [ 15% - 18% - 20% ].

International House Café has a $10 nacho bar during the World Cup!

I accidentally stumbled through there ... even if you don't care for soccer, their nacho bar (with two meat options) was really delicious!

Where do you meet people who socialize without alcohol or drugs being the default?

I’m not religious, in recovery, or judging anyone. I barely drink and don’t use drugs, and I’d like to meet people where that’s not a big deal.

I don’t just mean alcohol-free events. I mean people whose regular social life isn’t about drinking, wine, weed, shrooms, etc.

Where do you meet single people (40+) like that?

Stuff: how much do you own, how much do you buy, how do you move it each time?

I met a guy who lived out of his backpack and also had a locker at his office HQ in Bangkok. I thought that was quite exceptional.

Do most people here live out of a backpack for years on end? Do you accumulate stuff with each stay? How do you move that stuff, or do you just let it go each time?
