60+ applications 10 interview rejections struggling mentally

Hi guys

I have been coding proffesionally nearly 4 years and have degree which I got 92% in. I am mid level in my company which is quite big

This year I faced so many rejections like never before…

I just did an interview where I was told I do not have programming fundamentals.

They gave me a problem to solve with no ai and no code and I really struggled to remember the syntax and typing it out by hand…

At work as in many companies , I have been pushed and told to use as much ai as possible and some of the details have lost, I can’t code from scratch classes and objects like I could back in uni.

I have been doing lots of prep this year, DSA mainly because I have never done it before. I have been working on all the studying for the whole year every weekend and a lot of the mornings before work.

But today after this rejection I feel my mental health really on the decline.

I love code and I have put so much passion and love and I really really wanted to be good at it and I’ve just been told I don’t have the basics… I feel so crazy I am considering calling emergency mental health services, tears are rolling down my face and I feel really lost…

Grinding leetcode 7 months at 75 problems, shall I drop?

Hi guys

I been at my current company nearly 4 years and I need to move … I been taking interviews like 4 this year and all failed because I am not used to the technical exams need more practice.

But those are really good companies. And I am in the process to take 2 more leetcode interviews in 2 weeks with doordash and aws.

However I feel I might fail again…

If I do… I think I might need to just choose small company locally that has a chill interview and just move to it because in my current state of things in my job is really bad! I won’t be fired but I am not so sure how long it will be until I can pass a dsa interview ect

What shall I do?

I am in a 2 week leetcode sprint and then I then will take the intetervies and if no luck I think I might just change to a small one I don’t really like and be there for a year…

Leetcode UK, what companies in UK actually ask for DSA?

Hi guys…

Was talking to an engineer and I am wondering if many companies need DSA in UK?

How often does it come up?

Thanks

Just discovered LLD (low level design) wth?!

Hi guys

I thought it was all DSA or system design ?

Just discovered low level design is a thing.

Is there any other parts for interviews I need to know of? What is the syllabus?

Feeling low after failing interviews

Hi guys…

I wrote on here few times before taking Airbnb interview and after I was not confident before and when I left I knew it flopped

I feel low confidence … I have done 70 DSA and I am tireeedd I have so much left to learn.

Not on DSA and system design… also LLD because that seems what they wanted on first round on Airbnb. I have to spend so many more hours, hard working hours focused working properly…

I don’t know if I am capable… confidence slips and I feel embarissed where I am in my career. I am nearly 27 and everyone else seem to be on senior level already. I am not getting the promotion at work anytime soon… so have to do all the study outside full time work and I getting tired and loosing confidence and hope :(…. Someone help

I keep failing Interviews and need help on a development plan

I failed my Airbnb SWE interview last week. Here's what happened:

The Surprise:
I prepared for LeetCode DSA questions
The actual interview was Python OOP/Modularity with string handling It required iterating over abstractions and discussing trade-offs
The 45-minute timeframe was tight

My Situation:
I've done \~60 DSA questions but they don't prepare for this
I've coded professionally in C, C#, Python, Kotlin, but don't have one strong language I've been relying on AI for 2 years - I can't code under pressure without it
I chose Python for interviews (easiest for DSA), but didn't anticipate needing deep Python syntax knowledge
I have a full-time job + already studying DSA daily + HelloInterview system design

The Reality Check:
These questions aren't impossible - I just need Python fundamentals + practice coding without AI

I've forgotten how to write code from scratch under pressure
I need to pick ONE language and master it for interviews

My Plan:
Take 2 weeks of annual leave to intensive upskill
Do 2-3 LeetCode questions/day (aim for 150 in 2 months)
Build projects in Python from scratch to memorize syntax
Practice writing code by hand with no AI

The Ask:
How do I balance this with my full-time job? Should I adjust my plan? Any resources for mastering Python syntax quickly?

Airbnb interview experiance

So they told me it was going to be DSA and to choose between Java and python and I been grinding DSA questions in python for last two weeks and it wasn’t not DSA at all.

I turned up and I haven’t looked at python code for a while so I didn’t remember and it took me looong time until it clicked the code they showed because it was a couple classes with functions and they wanted me to write another class with a new function.

I recon if they gave me more time I would have defo been able to figure it out. But I couldn’t within the 45 mins.

Anyway… feeling sad and lost in my career
