Woke up to an IRCC email this am requesting a document that I have been unable to obtain
Just received an Email a few hours ago: IRCC has informed me that they will kill my application in 60 days if I do not come up with a NYC birth certificate from the 1930s for a deceased parent. This birth certificate would document GEN 1's status as the child of GEN 0.
I did address the missing BC in my cover letter, and included the GEN 1's 1) marriage certificate (listing GEN 0 by name), 2) GEN 1's obituary (also naming GEN 0 as parent) and 3) a US Census listing GEN 1 as a child of GEN 0 ("head of household"). Approximately 6 weeks later I received and uploaded GEN 1's death certificate (also listing GEN 0 by name) to my account. I realize the birth certificate would be ideal, but was really thinking/hoping that taken together these four documents would be seen as fairly credible.
So I had been searching for the required death certificate (needed for request for the BC) for some time but initially failed as I was told the individual passed outside the city. Finally figured it out and was able to circle back and did receive the DC. I then submitted what I think should be a good request to NYC for the BC several months back and nothing but crickets. Is there ANYTHING that I can be doing to move this forward??? Thank you for reading this and for any advice.
UPDATE: Thanks to everyone who read or commented. Finally spoke to someone at NYC Vital Records (311 for NYC).
Unfortunately their office is only now opening the mailed requests from about one month ahead of me. When they do open mine (in 30 days +/-), I should get an AOR-type email from NYC. Per the NYC Rep's recommendation I should return the receipt confirmation email to NYC with the IRCC Letter attached requesting urgency. I will also take NYC's confirmation email and send it to the IRCC with a request for an extension. (WHAT DOES THE GROUP THINK? WILL THAT GET ME AN EXTENSION FROM THE IRCC?). I may also explore the option of using the consultant listed by r/WinsomeExpedient, but since NYC keeps such an extraordinarily tight grip on the BCs of deceased persons, I am not too hopeful. Thanks again to all.
Oh Gosh - one last question. If they have opened my application and are looking it over, why does the tracker still say "Application Received"? I would expect that it would say "in process", but maybe there is some interim review step not included in the tracker?
