Anyone can put this wireless TV together without help
I received this product for free from LG as part of a promotional event. While I was asked to share my review, all opinions are entirely my own.
When I got the LG StanbyME 2 at my door, it was heavier than I expected it to be for a 27-inch screen TV, so definitely prepare to lift carefully! It seems the extra weight is from the stand base, which makes sense that it's heavy, so the TV doesn't tip over.
When I opened the box, I felt everything was packaged well with two layers of styrofoam. In addition to standard cables and a remote, I was pleasantly surprised that they included a smart tablet cover that also doubles as a tablet stand.
Assembling everything was quick and painfree! It only took about 15 minutes to put everything together since I only needed to tighten 4 screws in total for the entire assembly. One aspect that was really unique is that the instructions had us reuse the styrofoam in the box to help with holding the base while tightening the screws to the StanbyME arm. I'm glad that they added this tip because it saved me a huge headache of holding the two parts together manually.
One part that I didn't like was that I noticed that the quick start guide doesn't have any words. On the plus side, it helps keep things simple and easy-to-follow, but on the other hand, one of the steps was to place these plastic feet on the base. I thought it was a required step, but after I put them on, I found out that these plastic feet were to keep the StanbyME in place instead of using the rollers on the bottom, which was something that I did not want.
Overall, I was impressed at how straightforward and simple it was to put everything together! I'm confident that anyone can set up their LG StanbyMe 2 by themselves.
