Was made a promise and it was not fulfilled.
Quite a long one here, hoping I can simmer it down to less though.
On the 30th of November of 2025, I had a meeting with my regional manager. For context, I work a field supervisor role at a fairly large company with a not so big presence in my part of the U.S. I am the only person in my area with my job title so coworkers are far and few between in order to have a conversation about this.
The meeting was regarding my role, the pay and compensation including bonuses, and what the expectations of me were. In the letter, that I have signed and saved on my desktop, I signed an offer letter stating that I would make a minimum of $XX/hr, not a huge jump from my current pay, but something considerable that adds up over the year to quite a large sum.
Fast forward to now, I have several thousand dollars in back pay that have added up throughout this time, and the company refuses to give me this bonus because 1) the person that offered it to me and signed it was not in the position to offer me that 2) the person no longer works here so they cannot enforce it and 3) the person above him basically gave me a “GFY” answer when asked about the pay raise and instead told me that I was forecasted for a raise in June/July.
I reached out to HR about the situation and HR directed me back to the person who told me to forget about it. I want to pursue this further, but I know that if I do, in small company’s like this, going over a superiors head can result in a not so hospitable work environment and you’ll end up having to walk on thin glass throughout your employment so they don’t have a reason to get rid of you, especially in a smaller region/company like I am in.
One other important thing to add is that on the contract that I have signed with the pay, it does say that it is subject to change at anytime and can be withdrawn, however in the state of Texas, after something like this is signed, you are required to be notified of any changes to your pay.
I also have a child due in June, and I am not prepared to go to war for this if it means putting my job and my wife and child’s wellbeing at risk. They are top priority to me and I cannot put us in a position of finance that would hurt us.

TLDR: Job says I am supposed to be paid $X/hr but has not given me the raise despite a signed contract.
