Hey everyone,

My girlfriend and I are coming to Udaipur in the next 3 days. I know this is probably the worst season weather-wise but tickets are already booked.

In our case spending time together > staying in LDR mode.

We’re planning to mostly chill indoors during peak daytime hours (AC room is mandatory 😂), and explore early mornings, evenings, cafés, lakeside areas, etc. So we want to make the best of the trip without melting completely.

I wanted advice from locals/travelers on:

  • Which areas/streets are best to stay in for couples?
  • Which hotel locations should we avoid? (too noisy, shady, overpriced, difficult access, etc.)
  • Is the Pichola Lake - Hanuman Ghat - Chandpole area good for staying? I found a hotel there with good google reviews.
  • Any scams or overpricing tactics we should be aware of? (autos, boat rides, rooftop cafés, guides, bike rentals, etc.)
  • Any budget-friendly but memorable things we can still enjoy despite the heat?
  • Good cafés, sunset spots, rooftop places, or peaceful areas for couples?
  • Is renting a scooty worth it in this weather?

We’re not looking for luxury — just a safe, romantic, aesthetic area with good vibes, walkability, and reasonable pricing.

Would really appreciate honest recommendations, especially from people who visited during summer. Thanks ❤️

Is buying a café franchise a good first business for someone with zero experience?

I’m considering taking a café franchise (Chai Kaapi) as my first business and wanted honest advice from people who understand cafés/franchises in India.

I have no prior business experience, but I’ve always wanted to build something of my own. Instead of starting independently, I thought a franchise might be a lower-risk way to learn operations, hiring, customer handling, inventory, marketing, etc.

What attracted me:

  • Lower setup cost
  • “Chef-less” operations
  • Existing brand/support
  • Simpler than running a full restaurant

But I also don’t want to fall for a business model that only looks good on paper.

Would love honest feedback on:

  • What research should I do before investing?
  • Biggest red flags in café franchises?
  • Are the profit numbers usually realistic?
  • How difficult is day-to-day management actually?
  • Would you recommend franchise vs starting independently for a first business?

If anyone has experience with Chai Kaapi or similar chai/café brands, please share the reality — good or bad.

I’m not looking for passive income, mainly trying to understand if this is a sensible way to enter entrepreneurship.
