New player, had some questions

  1. Aside from graphics, what has changed from the original D2?

  2. Have there been balance changes? I've heard tales of the D2 necromancer, the "lagmancer", and I wanted to try it as a huge minion fan.

  3. What are seasons in D2? Are they like PoE where new content is added and the balance changes every season, or is it more just a way to get everyone playing at the same time to feel like a community? I was under the assumption that development was "done", and this was just an expansion with new content like the original expansion was.

  4. Can an offline character still play with friends, or does it need to be an online character? I'm not really interested in playing with randoms.

  5. Is there a reason to play an expansion character instead of a RotW character?

  6. Should I be playing a seasonal character, or a standard character? I don't really care about chasing the leaderboards.

  7. Is there an option to respec your character easily?

  8. Any tips for a new player? I've played lots of PoE 1, some PoE 2, and recently lots of Diablo 4, so I'm not new to the genre, just to Diablo 2.

  9. Idk just share something you love about Diablo 2.
