Why did we destroy the soulstones in D2?

I mena, if I understand Diablo lore... Those soulstones were the only true soulstones, that actually could contain the greater evils (IN THEORY) indefinetly...
(aka the only way out for them would be due to outward influence)
While they can make artificial soulstones to contain smaller demons, it does not work long term for the greater evils and they will eventually break out on their own.

But in D2... we destroyed them? Because apparently we were killing them permanently? (which was retconned I guess?)

So... what was the justification for destroying the soulstones in the new version?

Diablo iv Fanta Portal

Great day all, I’m sure this has been posted before but Fanta is giving out a free town portal. I just verified today and is working. I went to the Coca Cola Fanta website, created an account and played a mini game on the site for Diablo iv. You have to put 4 items in the horadric cube in less than a minute. It is unlimited tries and is only like 20 items. They stay lit if it’s one of the items. Once completed, you link your battle.net and that’s it. You get the portal. Like I said, verified for me working today. The link I went to is https://www.coca-cola.com/us/en/offerings/fanta/wanta-fanta

is there anyway to increase the chance of getting the right uniques for you build, other than brain dead grinding the same boss over and over and hope the RNGesus blessing your cube?

been killing this stupid dog on T12 for 100+ times, used all my great keys, and I can't get a single dagger that has both DOT and All DMG multiplayer. And literally every single one I got has weapon dmg which is useless for off hand.

how in the hell do you get a roll that is suggested by Maxroll??? (dex, DOT, all dmg, max life, for penetrating rogue )

D4 Cube Question

I'm trying to better understand the meta regarding gear work.

For starting, I'm basically following this path:

- Get a Rare with 1 desired GA

- Enchant to lock in that GA

- Add/Remove/Reroll affixes to get your desired 4 Affixes

- Temper until you get the 5th Affix you want. Reset, going for a new GA

- Add your Legendary Perk

- Masterwork, rerolling the last one until the GA you want is set.

- Add Gem Sockets

- Transmog

But after you've got your initial set, those affix rerolls burn up a lot of materials. Is it more efficient to start with a transmog, hoping for gem power that's not locked? Or to just keep farming the mats to rerolls attributes?

This process is cut down with Uniques and Mythics. Is it better to reroll until you get it, or just farm the boss/craft the unique?

I built D4Filter, an independent browser-based Diablo IV loot filter builder.

The goal is simple: pick the drops you care about, build readable rules, and copy an import code into Diablo IV instead of hand-editing or guessing filter strings.
it took me sometime to test and fix most of the idea, also its my first time code

Link: D4FIlter

What it does right now:

- Build rules for item types, affixes, uniques, talismans, rarity, Greater Affix, and item power checks

- Show, hide, or recolor matching drops

- Roundtrip-check the generated import code before showing it

- Import an existing game code for review where supported

A few notes so expectations are clear:

- This is unofficial and not affiliated with Blizzard

- It does not modify the game, automate gameplay, or read game memory

- Some choices are limited to what I have verification coverage for

- I’m looking for feedback on missing item types/affixes, confusing UI, and import cases that do not behave as expected

Paladin Outfits - Which do you like best?

I've always been a fan of grounded/"realistic" outfits. Especially when designed around things like the mythic items. Which do you like the best?

Transmogrification needs tuning

They did adjustments since the sanctification season by removing the ability to transmogrifi mythic powers which is good.

However with the new gems being damage multipliers they should have reigned in on the power from gem strength on weapons. It is disproportionately strong compared to every other transmogrification on weapons.

They should also remove stat replacements and keep indestructible as the only worst outcome. Stat replacements is an unnecessary way to punish players, when indestructible would lead to the same outcome. That the player tries to craft a new item, but without rendering the old item completely unusable in the interim. This change would also let them remove the no risk craft token, as more players would craft if the worst that can happen is indestructible.

Most fun builds in S13?

Starting late, just looking to have some fun. I dont really care about meta as long as you can clear everything with enough gear. What builds are just fun to play?

I really want to like T12 Mephisto, but I just can't

I like that he is a huge thematic boss, a great story, and on lower difficulties even has a cool fight, but WTF is T12 Mephisto.

Sorry for the rant but whoever balanced this fight is just plan sadistic at this point. The balancing of this boss vs the rest of the game really makes no sense.

I've got a build that tears Level 125 Pits down in under 5 minutes. I can kill the 3rd level nemesis portal bosses without looking at the screen. No other content even stands up to me. Even T10 Mephisto isn't a concern now. But T12 Mephisto just does way way way too much damage for how poorly telegraphed some of his attacks are.

Phase 1 is fine, you really only get one shot if you are dumb enough to stand in the falling sword attack. Its entirely deserved

Phase 2 is really where the problems lie. To Preface. My current build was 55k hp. And my Toughness floated up to 6 million in the fight. I swapped to an endurant faith charm and the barrier runeword.

The swamp attack. This is generally his opener. And its a big old one shot. BUT its relatively easy to dodge the first time he uses it. This attack is only problematic when he uses it while hiding in a corner. The design of the attack is extremely hard to dodge outside of the opener.

The red balls of fuck you. I don't even know how to consistently dodge them, or how many hit me when I fight him. But watching me eat 4 potions in a row and still die is fucking WILD.

Kamahama- This should be easy to dodge, but it gets weird sometimes and becomes unavoidable without a teleport. Probably needs adjustment.

Lightning strikes are probably fine.

Then he goes immune at 25% health and start throwing out ground piles that also can burn through 4 potions of health and still kill me. Why is any of that a thing.

I haven't even seen phase 3 on T12 tbh. I would think itd be easier but what the heck Do I know.

My review of diablo 4 as a complete ARPG noob

Well, i'll keep it short:

I've been a fps player all my life, mostly played counter strike, some gta, some mario games etc. Never had interest in any ARPG games, they always looked kind of weird and nerdy to me (Like sweaty asmongold type nerdy).

Well, i was bored as hell and saw diablo 4 on sale on steam so i said "fuck it, why not try it?". I paid, downloaded it and opened it up for the first time.

Well, fast forward 3 days and i'm level 60 and through the whole campaign. IM HYPED. This story is fucking AMAZING. I've not been this invested into a game since cyberpunk. Besides this weird "tree of the forest" shit where i just run from one place to another for like 3 hours, this story is a legit 10/10 in my opinion.

I didnt even hesitate and instantly bought the Vessel of Hatred + Lord of Hatred DLC. Welp, another day later and im level 70 and also finished the Vessel of Hatred campaign. Im mad. It sucks. Like, seriously. Its just boring. It feels like a chatgpt written story. It just felt soulless....

Well, i hope the LoH story will be better again. I'm a complete ARPG noob obviously and have no idea about how to rate any of the game mechanics or stuff like that, i can only rate the story at this point, but i can already see myself becoming a sweaty asmongold sub who's grinding endgame 12 hours a day within the next 3 months lmao

First Shako since D1...(1996)

Title, today I got my first Shako drop since 1996-ish when I played D1 on my Pentium (!). It dropped from a Mythic Undercity tribute/key run. Never got one in D2 or any other before today.

Also got a sweet 3-star Shroud that I'm going to soup up for my Pally.
