🛍️ My not-so-great experiences with “too good to be true” online deals (and what I’ve learned) 💻⚠️
I used to get really excited seeing huge discounts online—flash sales, “limited time offers,” crazy markdowns… and I’ll be honest, I’ve fallen for quite a few of them over time.
At first it feels like a win. You think you’ve grabbed something at an amazing price. But a few times, what actually showed up (or didn’t show up at all) was pretty disappointing.
Sometimes the product quality was way off from the pictures—cheap material, poor finishing, or something that just didn’t match what was advertised. Other times, shipping took forever, or the seller suddenly became unresponsive when I tried to return something. And in a couple of cases, the “discounted deal” wasn’t even a real deal—it was just marketing, with inflated original prices.
Over time, I’ve realised something simple:
if a deal looks too good, it’s worth slowing down and checking properly.
Now I always double-check reviews, seller ratings, return policies, and compare prices before buying anything. It’s saved me from a lot of regret purchases.
Just sharing this because I know how tempting those discounts can be—but not every “deal” is actually a good one in real life 🫠
