Marry Shane, regarding Jas

It feels odd that you don’t get Jas when you marry Shane. Considering that his whole shtick was that he fell into depression after his friends death and is now her legal guardian, shouldn’t she stay with him?

If he could have passed off the responsibility to Marnie the whole time then it doesn’t make as much sense to me that he took it in the first place or didn’t just rescind it sooner. It feels like his arc goes from him going “I have to keep it together for Jas” (he does not keep it together), to “I’ve gotten sober and I have my life back together, this is the best version of me, bye Jas!”

It would be nice if as his spouse we could keep him and his goddaughter together :/ and I like the idea of Jas living in my house way more than the animatronics that are my children.

It is possible that I have deeply held beliefs about this based on having an alcoholic parent 🙃 it just feels sad for me that Shane recovers and just when he CAN be that person for Jas he moves out and starts his own life with his own kids.

Nothing is ‘too popular’ or ‘overhyped’

Every time that I see someone online say “ughh ______ is overrated” about something that *they just don’t personally like* it makes me feel like I’m back in grade school.

How do grown adults not get that sometimes other people just like things that they don’t like? Our subjective opinions aren’t fact for anyone else. Like I didn’t like Invincible, but I don’t just assume that everyone that DOES like it is…. what, lying about liking it? Like “oh well obviously everyone agrees with me and knows that it’s bad, so they much better pretending to like it for some reason.”

Nothing is overrated. It’s just… RATED. Sometimes a lot of people like something more than you do. If they say “This is the best ________ of all time!” they obviously don’t mean it objectively for everyone on earth. *To them* it’s the best of all time.

There are a lot of popular things or celebrities that don’t resonate with me. They aren’t OVERRATED just because I didn’t personally like them. People like them exactly the amount that they like them.

Hell, the things *I* like aren’t UNDERrated just because other people don’t like them as much as I do. It literally affects me zero percent. No one is wrong for liking anything they like, it just happens.

I just don’t get how anyone who’s not a fucking TODDLER can actually think “I don’t like this thing, so no one else should either!” or “you all like this TOO MUCH and I’m mad about it!”
