Why is my Pheidole Rhea colony is shrinking
I bought a colony of ~ 1,000 Pheidole Rhea back in March. And since then, the colony seems to be slowly getting smaller. Which is suprising as I've read that Pheidole Rhea grow extremely fast. I also just noticed today that the QUEEN has also moved into the tube of the outworld! Sounds like something about the nest isn't right. The tube in the outworld is what they originally got shipped in. I never removed it as it was there was always some ants in there. I have 2 water feeders in the outworld and 2 water feeders in the nest. The brown wire over the nest is the heat cable. Around the heat cable I measure about 85F degrees. Other areas of the nest not under the heat cable is around 77F. I don't see water condensing on the top of the nest anywhere, so I don't think it's too humid. I feed them a pinch of bluegrass seeds every other day. I will put in crickets about once per week. What am I dong wrong?
